How I TAC
I started TAC after watching some of Tony’s video that popped up while watching other guitar tutorials. I was immediately understand what he said and how he could teach you guitar but also learn new things and how to stay with it. I played when I was in my teens, but then quit during my career. At 68 and not playing for 50 years, when the pandemic hit, I had to have something to do. My dad had multiple guitars so I started playing. A lot of it came right back and with big hands barre chords came easy. I never did learn the fretboard, finger picking, tablature, and the rest of the guitar, just chords as a rhythm player. Well, this spring it will be a year with TAC. I now play everyday, unless I just take one off, and then feel guilty. I usually play in the evenings in my guitar room which is just a spare bedroom with no bed. On weekends if I play I play in the afternoons.
I started with the 30 day primer, that went well. Then I started several of the jumpstart courses and they went well. Then I tried to add the daily challenge and became overwhelmed. So I went back to Fretboard Wizard, then flat picking. Every lesson has been great. I have also started watching the daily challenge, print them, write notes and try them. Some I don’t care for like finger picking, because I haven’t done the course yet, but there will be time in the future to go back to the lessons because I’m saving them old school, on paper.
My current goals are to continue to play daily or nearly daily. I also got a tablet and added some songs from Guitar Tapp, a free library of songs. I can pick oldies and try to play them. In fact, I’m playing in front of people now with 3 other players. We like to play weekly during the winter. Am I still overwhelmed yes, but am I staying with it, yes. Playing guitar has become a passion. Continuing to learn something new is as important as daily practice. Yes, I’m old, but TAC makes my day. Thanks, Tony.
