1.) How many days per week do you play?

I try and play every day of the week. I would say 5 days out of the 7 are busy with a guitar moment. I manage to get my time in and then a bit more.

2.) What time of day do you play?

I usually play in the evening for ten minutes and it usually extends a bit, or lots 😀

    3.) Where do you play?

I play every day either in my guitar room or in my kitchen. These days, I play in my kitchen in between zoom calls with my students as I am a teacher. The world is such that we are sent back home every once in a while and I get to include some practice time during the day.

I have my trusted Mr. Miyagi (guitar) with me and pick it up while students are working. I have even given them a little concert yesterday while they were working on their project! Thank you to all these VOM evenings I have attended ( very few I have played) as they have given me enough courage to play for others! Small win right there!

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
Before I met the TAC program, I had no focus and was randomly learning things off youtube but not showing any real progress of any kind.

TAc allowed me to focus my energy on daily lessons for the required ten minutes and gave me a sense of purpose for my musical journey.

I also have been able to plan my practices before I even sat down. Intentions were then created and a plan without distractions helped me keep my energy to fulfill the set intention.

Finally, keeping it fun and light is the key in my world to keep improving. I tend to go overboard with expectations and it can get it the way of my learning plan. Having intentions and focus on a particular subject helps me keep my daily lessons and other learning topics of the day in perspective. The real reasons I play are for fun, stress relief and really, because guitar is so darn cool.

And, Whisky (dog) likes it too! 🙂

5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?

    During the day? coffee!

At night? whisky with some “geologist” rocks provided by a good friend from across the pond.

That’s a pretty awesome guitar routine, @JulieI. I guess that’s why you have been able to see so much progress. Thanks for sharing.

By the way, I can’t figure out the hidden meaning in the title. If I use all the capitol letters, I get HOITCCJI. Maybe leave out the I and get HOT? But then what is CC? Do I include the JI? I don’t know.

Ok, wait, I missed an I. HOITCCIJI. I’ve never been good at figuring out those license plates that mean something.

It would be very cool if you would play for us in the VOMs more often. Just sayin’. Nobody’s judging, but you do play pretty dern good.

    MG 😀

      THank you Mike,

No rhyme or reason for the capitals. I just felt like it but now I will put some thought into it for the next post! 🙂

Sounds that you have it altogether with teaching and guitar! Love that you are serenading the students as they work

Keeping the guitar close by helps getting through the day! Kids like it and it makes it for a great practice time!
