Injured finger needs ear training!
This is my first post on the forum. I joined TAC a month or so ago and have completed the 30 Day Challenge and started on some of the skill lessons. Unfortunately a week ago I hit my left ring finger extremely hard with a 20 ounce framing hammer. I managed to crush and break my finger. Crazy thing my first thought after I gained my composure was, “dang I won’t be able to play my guitar”! So while commiserating over my misfortune I thought this would be a good time for some ear training. So here is my ask; Is there a course on ear training within TAC? If not what recommendations might y’all have? Thank you in advance.

Fretboard Wizard covers ear training. It’s a separate cost, but it is well worth it.

Hi @RayS , Welcome to TAC – Sorry to hear about your misfortune😱 As @Loraine suggests, Fretboard Wizard has a couple of sections devoted to using your ear to find the key to a song, and how to figure out the possible chord progressions for a song. So much more info in that course too. Well worth the extra $👍

Lol i think about this all day at work everytime i use a saw. Really really using extra care not to chop my fingers off these days…
For ear training there are many free apps. On the iphone i have tried Earpeggio, eye and ear, mockingbird, and yousician. I believe all are free.

@RayS. Sorry about your misfortune. although your left hand may be out of commission. If you are interested in learning fingerpicking you could practice finger picking patterns This is one thing I’ve done when my left hand is recovering. speedy recovery……
