  • Janet’s Foss [Work in Progress]

Posted by Moonhare on November 12, 2022 at 3:00 am

This is a work in progress inspired by a trek across the Yorkshire Moors
National Park. We came across a waterfall and plunge pool known as
Janet’s Foss and reputedly the inspiration for the book The Water
Babies. I still need to get this up to tempo and the picking pattern more
accurate but you get the gist.

That sounded wonderful Darren ( @Moonhare )👏👏👏 Your finger picking and chord progression combination left me with a feeling of serenity and tranquility – I’m not sure if that’s what you were shooting for, but that’s how it felt to me. Either way, this WIP is going to turn into a beautiful piece and I can’t wait to hear the final product🤩

Thanks Bill. Just trying to hone skills like walking bass and alternating thumb patterns as I write. This one’s a keeper though. 🤟😎🎸

Thanks a lot. This one just tumbled out after our walk. Love it when that happens.

Thanks! Yes it is a beautiful location. Going out of season also helps. Fewer people around.

Yes I was enjoying the voicing in particular. Trying to move about the neck more now even if it does sometimes catch me out!

Thanks Jonathan! I always feel a bit more at home with fingerpicking so I’m glad it is coming together a bit more now.

Thanks for that poetic comment. It’s going to be a proper piece of music at some stage for sure.
