Since Marissa is Kicking my Backside with her Landslide….
Posted by JoeW on June 20, 2021 at 1:26 pm… I am going out on a very thin limb here and posting this here attempt at singing and playing at the same time. It’s rough as hell but, vocally it’s in my range – forgive the “humming” in the beginning.
Also, I still have great difficulty coordinating the proper number of strokes/ strums / beats but, I’ll use the excuse that this is in 5/4 time.

Hey @JoeW 👍👍😱 That was an awesome rendition👏👏👏🤩 I like how you held the tempo throughout your performance and I think your vocals “Really Truly” made it your own version😎

That was excellent…if you only had the Ian Anderson hair. lol Seriously though many JT songs are fairly complex but you nailed it.

That was very cool Joe. I applaud both your song choice as well as you effort for taking it on. Very fun to listen to.

Hey @JoeW– just picking a Jethro Tull song is a testament to your musicality! You have inspired me on many occasions, and this song was great! Your voice was perfect for the tune too. You know, after working on Landslide, I can truly appreciate why Stevie Nicks, an accomplished guitarist, goes on stage with just a microphone!

I’m humbled by your kindness. And I am inspired by you, in turn.

Nice one joe you handle that guitar very well and I enjoyed the singing.

Excellent job! I haven’t heard that in a long time. Thank you!

I only noticed this post today JoeW. Not many people would try covering that song i don;t think but you did a great job with it. That’s one of my favourite albums – definitely my favourite Jethro Tull album and I listened to it a ton back in high school. I picked out Nursie off that album but never tried playing the title cut. fyi, Jethro Tull just released a new album – have not heard it yet.

Thanks @Jonathandavid . Tull was the first concert I paid to see. That was about ’76. I had previously seen the Box Tops for free n ’67 in NE Philly (a WIBG event!) at Roosevelt Mall. The Letter was their big hit. And my Aunt took me to see The Cowsills at Steel Pier in Atlantic City in ’68 or ’69. They were the inspiration for the Partridge Family. It all seems like yesterday to me.
Ian Anderson was the most entertaining front-man I’ve ever seen. The man was pure energy from the moment he hit the stage. Still one of my top 5 favorite concerts.

Loved it Joe! You rock. That is one hard song to play and sing and you kicked it in the butt! You can tell it was a song you just innately had in your memory. 👏😐😀
