So long for now…
Posted by Guy_H on November 6, 2022 at 10:40 amMy TAC sub expires soon and I’m taking another road on my music journey. TAC – the TAC community and Tony P have been the foundation for my learning and appreciation for guitar and making music. Tony’s foundational 5 was a revelation for understanding theory. As well, the “coaching” that Tony provides is critical for the times when doubt creeps in.
The wisdom and support of the members on this forum is priceless from folks such as @jumpinjeff , @Dom_T , @dr_dave , @DMart and many others has meant so much.
So keep on pickin’ ! My time here has truly been life changing. 👍🤠

@Guy_H , fair winds friend and may you always know what to do if the seas get rough. Remember the safe harbor. So long for now. Many paths go through Regina so maybe not too long, eh?

For reasons I don’t understand, my attempts to reply to @Guy_H always direct instead to @jumpinjeff . Sorry about that.
I am so glad to have met you (actually that part applies to both of you, Guy & jj), and I’m really honored to have been credited in Guy’s original post as having helped on his journey. That feeling is certainly mutual.
Now here’s the funny part. As luck would have it, the individuals you specifically mentioned (except for jj, who was likely there in spirit) were together in the same listening room on the very same day you posted this thread. I was with Sharon Tiano & @Dom_T , @DMart , Robert Carhart, Jr., Carol M, Eryn M, Doc How (all of whom met through TAC) and my wife, Rose, to see Under the Oak at City Winery in Philadelphia. I’m sure jumpin’ jeff wishes he had been there too, since he’s another longtime friend of Maggie Pope, a member of UTO who happened to be a TAC staffer in a community relations role back when I joined in 2017. Another coincidence is that I just tried to telephone jumpin jeff last night for the first time in many months. So imagine my surprise when I read your post this morning, I credit you, Guy, for creating this wonderful disturbance in the force that ties into what Douglas Adams called the “FIAT,” i.e. the fundamental interconnectedness of all things.
I expect our paths will continue to cross via virtual open mics, and I hope some day we meet somewhere for an in-person, face-to-face jam. It’s such a wonderful journey along the guitar path where everyone wants to help each other. We’re blessed to have struck gold!

Wishing you all the best on your future guitar geek adventures, @Guy_H !! You’ve been quite an inspiration to all who have gotten to know you here at TAC. And yeah, you can always come on back if things change. We’ll leave the light on for ya.
Keep on strumming, and we’ll be seeing you around the internet 🙂

Hey @Guy_H ;
I’m really glad I don’t actually have to say “good luck on your continued guitar journey” as I will continue to be a part of your continued guitar journey.
Had I not signed up as a lifetime member of TAC, I would have left by now. But because I did, I get to keep TAC as the nucleus of my guitar journey.
But I now realize that I could stay on my guitar journey and continue progressing without TAC being my center piece.
I look forward to seeing your continued progress on the VOMs.
MG 😀

@Guy, I sense you will virtually continue as part of my journey, but, “May the road always rise to meet your feet, the wind be always at your back, the rain fall softly on your fields (assuming you get same in the great Canadian plains) and you be three weeks in heaven ‘fore the Devil knows you’re gone.”
See you soon
