  • The big win of tac forums for me

Posted by Mrfredsporty on August 15, 2022 at 4:19 am

One of the dangers for “mature” folks like me(age78) is slowly drawing up and withdrawing as friends are lost and life shrinks a little. its a constant battle to stay active, workout, find new friends etc. I have found a way of being active by using the tac forums (some might say too often). Its another tool in my toolbox to reach out and stay active in an additional way. I started out tentatively and now have been haunting the forums just about daily. In the beginning I got a couple of responses welcoming me etc. Now, I have like a steady flow of responses from great folks. I want to take this opportunity to thank tac in general and all its members for their open welcoming and insightful contributions. I also have to apologize to not responding to everyone. I read every response and am thankful to you all!

Hi there @Mrfredsporty ! When I log in everyday I want to see what’s Fred up to now”? 😃. It is refreshing to see everyone join in on the topics and conversations. The forums are meant to be a big part of building the TAC community and that they do! 😎🎶🎸

I second that opinion, Kitman! The forums are one of the best features of TAC – though I do need to make sure I still pick up a guitar when I log in! The motivation and encouragement of fellow geeks is very helpful. I hope you never feel hesitant to post your thoughts, Mrfred, you can be sure some of us are eager to hear them and respond.

Yeah, @Mrfredsporty , you are welcome for all that I have contributed to your social circle. But I also want to say a big thank you for all that you have contributed to my social circle. I’m not as old as you are, but I’m old enough to feel the effects of a shrinking social life and the challenge of staying active. I am holding my own, just barely. And TAC helps a ton.

    MG 😀

Hey @Mrfredsporty I totally agree that this is a great part of social contact (post?) covid especially. I’m 72 and live in a very sparsely populated area so having the contact with other folks on my guitar journey sure helps. I also really like the VOM’s (even though I’m an infrequent visitor/player) over at Justmusicgeeks. Keep on keepin’ on!
