Tony’s Acoustic Challenge – The New Way to Learn Guitar Family Forums Community Support Thoughts after my first 5 daily challenge days

  • Thoughts after my first 5 daily challenge days

I wanted to share my experience after completing my first 5 days of daily challenges. While most of them have been over my head, and I’m not really able to complete them, especially the fingerpicking. What I have found is, it has pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and makes me work on things I probably would not even try yet. Even though I can’t do most of them well, I think working on these just a few minutes a day, I can see how this would help improve ones playing skills. Some of the pull offs, and double hammer on’s would not have ever been something I would try at this stage of learning. Fun to see just getting it a little bit is exciting.

    Thanks for everyone’s support here.

@Skyman Congrats on the milestone of completing your first week of daily challenges. That’s a big win. I like that you recognize how being challenged and pushed out of your comfort zone can lead to progress. I’m still challenged by the dailies, even after a year and a half, but I typically pick up the skills and am able to play what Tony is teaching much quicker and more efficiently. Keep up the effort, and one day you’ll be like, now that wasn’t so bad!

You know @Skyman, you are correct. Sometimes Tony comes up with something and I think….. What? are you kidding? But now I can understand what he is doing and pushing us to do. Learning those pull offs and hammer ons make a big difference too. Good to hear your thoughts. Just keep picking 😉

Yeah, I agree with the girls, @Loraine and @Cadgirl , @Skyman , it’s pretty awesome that you recognize the benefit of the dailies in stead of being put off by them. With that attitude, you will have fun. And because you have fun, you will make better progress. It’s totally amazing and opposite of my negative nature, but I’m learning to be more positive. This site has really helped me beyond guitar and music. I’m not sure the dailies will ever be easy for me. But that means I will always grow by doing them.

@MikeGaurnier , I am going to start working on the daily challenges a little more on the weekend. Just playing though monday – friday challenges. Maybe I can put some type of sound arrangement together. That is what Tony did on the last day of the 5 days of daily routine challenges (i think that is what it was called). Wish me luck .

You know @MikGaurnier , I did have fun. I sat down Sunday morning with the Monday – Fridays challenges printed out. Then watched the last day of the 5 day routine challenge to recap how Tony did it. It took awhile, but everything came together. and don’t worry…. I always have fun :). I even posted my results on the small win page.
