Very small win
Posted by Greg_F_Lee on April 21, 2022 at 3:57 pmToday, for the first time ever, I played a C sharp minor barre chord and all five notes rang out clear as a bell. Not only that, but I replicated it several times!
Maybe barre chords aren’t so evil after all?

Good work Greg! You just have to keep at it. It will come.

Congrats @Greg_F_Lee 👍👍 Just know that barre chords unlock a whole new dimension with guitar playing😱 So do not stop – keep the train rollin’😎

Thanks, @GuitarGeni and @Bill_Brown for the encouragement. I’m determined to not give up on barre chords!

That’s a hard one for me. It’s difficult for me to make barre chords that far up the fretboard.
I saw a player who switches knees back and forth and I think that helps him get a good grip on the strings.
Congrats to you!

That’s brilliant. Barre chords are the thing that stop me in my tracks when it comes to chord changes. One day It’ll happen, but well done on your win. Onwards and upwards! 🤟😎🎸

Awesome win @Greg_F_Lee ! Those barre chords are many peoples nemesis’, but once you find the sweet spot, it gets easier and easier each time. You now know it’s possible, so don’t become discouraged if you find it difficult to do it again. Keep at it, and you’ll get there again.

Thank you, @Brian2501 , @Moonhare , and @Loraine . That makes two barre chords I can play clearly but they say slow and steady wins the race!

I agree @Mrfredsporty , barre chords are evil. But necessary. I need a barre chord coach who can give me hands on barre chord training.
