Worked out something with the Wed Improvisation.
Posted by Cadgirl on April 16, 2022 at 3:04 pmMy small win is being able to play the Wed improvisation with the backing track and have it actually sound like a nice little riff. I have been with TAC for over a year now and this is the first time I was able to make it sound like something! Very proud of myself.

That’s a great win Cadgirl! I’m not sure how to improvise yet, but I still give it a try though. Congratulations on sounding good! 👏

@stevieblues ,I would recommend listening to the backing track and using the 2 (or 3) thinnest strings, find the fret that sounds good. I didn’t worry about timing or anything, sometimes just hummed till I could find that note. Once you can do that, Tony’s improvisation lick made a little more sense and I could play along. I was using Wednesday’s Four Eyes.

Fantastic strategy @Cadgirl ! If I can hum it I can play it. Sometimes I will only use three notes, for example the first 3 notes of the scale. I will try combinations using only those three notes and seeing if I can make little phrases that make sense and starting each phrase on a different one of those 3 notes to start the phrase. Great win. So darn cool you are finding your way.

Time matters not. What matters is you kicked open the door and you are walking through….Winning, winning, winning.
To be fair I catch myself thinking the same thing except my time is 7years but I have learned to extinguish that little brush fire before it starts. The previously thought impossible has become not only possible but an intuitive reality by letting go of time and focusing on what, not when. You have this. It is all about how with think.

That’s fantastic! I love those little sparks. sounds like it may turn into a fire.

Just great to hear this. I am still finding my improvs a bit stilted and ‘noob’ sounding so kudos to you for this small win. Consistency pays off eventually and here’s to the next one.

@GuitarGeni , I am now sitting aside a little time just to pluck around instead of always practicing a song.

Glad to hear you enjoyed that moment…sure seems like some backing tracks click more than others for me. I had a few of those experiences and have to say it is a joy when it clicks. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

thanks @Brian2501 . Some of the improvisations are hard and I can’t fit them in with the backing track. But, on the whole i can get them.

What an awesome win @Cadgirl ! You’ll definitely have to share it with us. I’ve only done 2 of them, and I kept it so simple it was almost embarrassing, but I did it, and that’s what matters. Keep on plunking away!
