Wrestling with the Hacksaw Jim Duggan Improv
Posted by JoeW on June 17, 2021 at 4:35 pmSo, I notice these backing tracks are getting longer and longer. How y’all feel about that? Just curious. Certainly a challenge to me to keep it interesting.
I tried to color inside the lines as best I could.

I’m not familiar with Zager. In your video it looks like the depth is deeper that the average guitar. It’s very pretty. How do you like it?

Very well done. It transported me to somewhere in Spain (perhaps). Very restful and comtempletive.

Very nicely played on that 12 fret @JoeW 👏👏👏 nice melody👍 all colored within the lines😎
I for one, like the longer backing tracks. I think it gives more opportunity to noodle

<div>I have to admit to feeling more pressure to not screw up, @Bill_Brown. I don’t plan out solos; I go with stream of consciousness – trying to play with the chord changes and do a few takes until I get a relatively mistake free one to post – no 2 are the same and I couldn’t repeat myself if I tried. So, the takes I delete are the noodling, I suppose.

If you were wrestling with that, it did not show. It looked more like dancing with it. It was beautiful all the way to the end. And yes, I struggle with the longer backing tracks. I run out of ideas and tend to repeat a few phrases multiple times. I also have to noodle with it over and over and can rarely remember what I did the last time so it keeps changing. Then when I video it, I have to do multiple takes. It is a very labor intensive process for me so I don’t get many videos actually posted. I’m just not to the point I can play something and video it on the first take. Maybe someday or in another life. Thanks for posting this lovely improv.

Well done. It is impressive on how many different styles and melodies this community pulls from the same lesson.

That was lovely I got a Spanish feel too as bugmeist said. So comfortable and relaxed with the guitar it comes out in the playing.
