Nice one!

Carlos Santana was a master of using note bending and Vibrato in his songs i.e., “Black Magic Woman”
-
Nice. 🙂
-
Tom Morello using vibrato playing Ghost of Tom Joad with Springsteen,
-
Jeff Beck uses vibrato in Rod Stewarts cover of People Get Ready…lots of bending, slides, cool sounds
-
well, wasn’t that fun. La de da ….
-
First example of great vibrato that came to my mind was “Angel Eyes” by Jeff Healey. Such a gorgeous sound. And this is a great lesson — vibrato adds so much character!
-
Ghost Riders in the Sky.
-
Really not hearing it working.?
-
I felt the same way till I did it the way Tony says to, moving my finger, kind of pivoting my hand with my thumb on the back of the guitar.
-
-
Got this!
-
My vibrato didn’t sound all that shaky!
-
That felt a little awkward but I’m glad we are trying out vibrato on a simple one string scale so we can fully concentrate on the technique. I love the classical guitar piece Romanza (AKA Spanish Romance). That would sound beautiful with some well-placed vibrato.
-
Fun challenge, It takes getting used to in getting the vibrations going.
-
I had trouble keeping my thumb on the back of the guitar and wiggling my finger. I had to take my thumb off the back to wiggle my finger. Hope this isn’t a bad habit.
-
Seems like the movement actually comes from the forearm? The finger actually looks still. Anyway, not easy. So glad for the lesson!
-
I did a little yesterday and did more today. My finger wiggling doesn’t make much vibrato.
-
I got this and appreciate the opportunity to actually focus on vibrato. The first song that came to mind when I thought about great vibrato was Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight” and then I thought of Derek and the Dominos “Layla” (Derek is Clapton). There’s string bending in both but also gorgeous vibrato in both.
-
Strangely I find vibrating the higher notes easier than the lower notes. I just need to practice some more to make the vibration a bit more consistent. As to a song with vibrato, someone already mentioned “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd. Really, David Gilmour’s style is steeped in vibrato. It’s also very present in “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”.
-
the light came on when Tony explained about not bending the string when attempting vibrato. Now I can make the notes vibrate. A big win for me
-
I surprised myself!
-
Vibrato Interesting. I sound pretty slow here. I like BB’s vibrato in anything he plays.
-
Hard on the fingers.
-
Fun. Vibrato was challenging for my index finger, others were ok. Good at 1X
Nights in White Satan
-
Enjoyed this lesson.
-
First song that comes to mind is Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. Love it!
-
Vibrato is fun!
-
still rough on the fingers, but doable for the notes…
-
Good evening TAC family. Answering Tony’s question also; Pink Floyd/David Gilmour’s acoustic intro. to “Wish You Were Here” and throughout the song.
-
The Thrill is Gone, BB King. First song that comes to mind. SRV used a lot of vibrato across his playing as well.
-
Songs with vibrato:
Diary – David Gates & Bread
I just tried a little solo on it and the vibrato added nicely to it in my opinion -
Felt good today and last Tues BB king day was alot of fun . I keep playing that and then adding on after it. Barr chords still a challenge.
-
That was probably the easiest lesson yet for me.
