Tuning in from Nashville. We moved Monday and I got behind. Now have a house full of boxes. I know a lot of you have been there. I need tomorrow to get caught up. I’ll finish the week Friday and Saturday. I just need to practice what we learned M-Th.

How many rhythmic combinations are there in this set up? I lost count at 823,543.

My acoustic vibrato is not nearly as vibrant as when he does it. I’ve thought about plugging in the amp to see if that adds anything to it or not since my Yamaha is an acoustic/electric.

I can see how with focussed pracitce, this goes from being completely unco, with the guitar wobbliing around everywhere, to controlled, using the correct techniques. It’s amazing what you can get the pinky of your goofy hand to do. I added a few vibratos to some solos I was playing around with, and when you add a slide into it…….nice…..

I tried it on the Taylor GS Mini and the Teton dreadnought, great sound. Still alive and kicking in Juneau Alaska and it’s finally spring. I had to take a little break and go mountain biking down in New Mexico two weeks ago. I did take my Teton guitar and played at Faywood Hot Springs. One of my monthly goals is to take my guitar out of the house and play somewhere new. today was day 1121 Tony’s acoustic guitar challenge.

I like improvising over the backing track but my vibrato is very faint and awkward feeling. The string bending was better than other techniques. Will keep practicing.

hmm…well, I can do the vibrato….and occasionally, I felt like what
I was playing was adding something worthwhile to the backing track, but mostly…just some notes with a little vibrato… -
i had the urge to bend strings along with the vibrato,because it’s like playing jazz…

I think the edgy vibrato is easier for me. My pinky finger needs some help.

That was fun! Incorporating all three scales over the backing track. Doing some edgy vibrato here and there.

Good practice. Getting “edgy” vibrato down, bending is easier than the other two techniques. Pinky needs a little help from ring finger. Played scales over backing track, didn’t sound very musical to me.

That was much better tonight had trouble with the pinky finger but when used my ring finger it was much better the 12th fret is hard because of the size of the neck at body I would call this a win

Not the greatest day but I showed up.
I can’t remember the scales when I’m improvising. I more than likely didn’t practice them long enough. Tomorrow’s a new day. -
This was a lot of fun to play over the backing track.

Oddly enough, my pinky is better at bending without lifting than the other fingers. This was pretty fun to test out against the backing track.

Edgy vibrato technique was definitely easier than leveraged vibrato for me. Nothing really inspired about my improv (not that unusual), but nice to play guitar on this foggy, drizzly day in Colorado Springs.

I could not get the backing track to play, so I just improvised on my own, and still had a good time. I used my index, ring finger and the picky, and all went really well. I had a good time and that is my big win for the day!

Definitely my favourite style.

Simple enough, Just have to not slip back into just picking only.
