Day 4 – The More The Merrier

I’m a day late but this is awesome, what a cool sound, it went well, my timing is just a bit early and for the most part I’m able to stay with Tony. I do listen to music a lot closer now to hear the vibrato. Again such a cool sound.
-
Timing is harder than the vibrato. I want to rush it…
-
I am enjoying the week of creating space theses three chords are fun
-
My index finger does the vibrato and the others just tag along, late and out of sync. Don’t foresee many of these in my future but I showed up and gave it a try.
-
That’s gonna take some practice. I find my index finger doing a bigger wiggle compared to the other two. Still, pretty cool. Interestingly though, if I only use my index and middle finger, the wiggle is quite comparable. I guess the ring finger is throwing my pattern off. Weird, but fun.
-
Lot of fun for the novelty of chord vibratto. Less distance between chords made it even more enjoyable. Thanks.
-
Thats tough! Either searching for the next chord or forgetting to “mute” Consentrate, concentrate…
-
OK I’m having FUN now
-
Ok I got the chords and the transition to each on the play but the strings just don’t want to do the vibrado thing very good just yet. Not much bending and shaking. A win anyway.
-
I use vibrato often and bends occasionally when playing individual notes. I have not used it on chords like we are playing in todays session, it seems not to difficult especially for this chord shape, I will try incorporating it into my playing.
-
Chord vibrato was better than single note vibrato.
Like the bluesy sound. -
Feeling like my fingers are a little uncoordinated–not with the chords but with the vibrato. But still enjoyed it.
-
that was fairly easy…timing was my biggest challenge today. I’ve been working some vibrato into my normal songs I play…experimenting/practicing sometimes I think it adds something
-
Vibrato is quite difficult on a 12-string. I’ve done it before on a 6-string with some success, but now I have only a 12-string. The higher strings work well, rocking the fingers between the frets, but bending the strings is difficult.
-
Well l did make it back to finish the play session. Great lesson
-
Its not all that difficult but the thumb slap is throwing me off. when playing at the speed of the “Play”, the slap seems to be more of the beginning of the next measure rather than the end of the current measure. I needed to play it faster to get better rhythm. It’ll probably come easier next time.
-
Fun! I found this easy.
-
As I write this, my left middle three fingers are throbbing. Oddly enough there is a smile on my face in spite of the pain because I succeeded to play vibrato. It actually sounds good. I don’t want to stop. Thanks for this one.
-
with just one more strum in there and the Batman song came thru!
-
This exercise is an order of magnitude more challenging than the 3 previous ones. It builds strength, accuracy and timing. It looks easy on paper and it sounds easy to hear you play it, but this one, for me, is a real challenge. Thanks!
-
I like this one. It takes time to get my head around the chords. (small win) and even longer to switch them. (small win). I am getting better at sticking to it and taking the wins where I get them. I’m a work in progress.
-
Having difficulty getting vibrato on 3 strings in unison consistently, when I do get it sounds cool. My first time trying this technique, will need to more practice to get it under fingers.
-
This week has been pretty fun; much better than several prior weeks. I still have much work to do but will keep at it.
-
I’m liking the sound of the A7-D7-E7 chord progression. A million songs have been written from Blues, Jazz and Rock in this style! This is where every guitar player starting out begins with a 3 chord progression song that can be played in any key. Good stuff!
-
The more the merrier
-
Best soloing yet yesterday, albeit baby steps (no ‘Trane Giant Steps yet).
-
Another fun play along. To get my timing right I listened for Tony’s “4 and “ to start my one beat. Vibrato definitely added to the overall feeling.
-
This has been a good week! Loving the vibrato challenge!
-
My small win today was playing with a fellow TAC family member. She was in Colorado and I am in Iowa. We played together online using the JackTrip app. We played several TAC songs as well as many others. Lots of fun!
-
Thanks Tony. Good time!
-
A little easier on the E7 and D7 than the A7, but getting there.
-
This was fun today. Really enjoyed myself.
-
I’m not its master but I did ok with this. Day five should be interesting
-
Vibrato was good with three fingers, although after a number of repetitions, it was tough on my finger tips.
-
this technique I think is one of my better wins!!!
-
I checked in and finally made it to the transitions and was able to get a little vibrato out of it. Chords continue to be a struggle, but my fingers finally began to get a hold of this. I have a long ways to go, but I am getting there, brick by brick. Somedays just seem to only be one brick a day.
-
Fun, but got bored with it quickly. Still discovered something new and will practice.
-
I did well today with the vibrato and the chord movements. I need some work on the count as i seemed to rush it sometimes. overall i enjoyed this lesson.
-
Played the chords ok. Vibrato in progress. This helped my chord changes.
-
Fun! Tony Iommi did this with Black Sabbath chords all the time. \m/
-
Sometimes had trouble getting all 3 strings to vibrato at same time. Sounds great when it all works.
-
Vibrato chords!!! Who knew?
-
Plucking and shaking at its best!
-
I enjoyed this lesson and did okay on doing the vibrato. I need to work on counting time now. I was a little fast.
-
groovy!
-
Cool sound with the chords. Love the Vibrato.
-
I like the mellow sound of these chords and using the vibrato. It was hard not to rush the “and of 4.”
Had a fun time jamming, virtually, with a friend, who is a fellow TAC member! We’ve added TAC songs to our repertoire- what fun! -
Kinda tiring, ok exercise, had to work to keep the shake and sustain, whew!Good lesson
-
Not sure of this picking 3 strings.. never saw this technique before I’m only gettin 2 strings ..
-
Fun exercises this week!
Congratulations, !
