  1. How and when does the ring finger get strong? I’m having a tough time with the third note in first measure because my ring has no strength. The shape feels very awkward to my hand.

    1. Meghan,

The ring finger can be a wimp, but in time and after doing the weekly warmups you will notice some improved strength and dexterity in that digit 🙂 The more you use it the stronger and more dependable it will become, so hang in there 🙂

      Cheers,
      Tony

  2. I’ve been working on Joy for quite a while and have consistently had trouble with the melody line in section one. As I move from the high G to F# I’d accidentally pull-off the string causing an unwelcome E to play. Coming back and re-watching the video I just found you suggest to put the ring finger on the F# before releasing the G. Works like magic. Thanks! #smallwin

  3. Tony,
Thanks for teaching us a wonderful Christmas song that is fun to hear any time of the year. I couldn’t help but notice that your fireplace consists of an iMac 21″ or 27″. A very nice touch. It’s May but I just got to learning this song that I like to play on any instrument I happen to get my hands on. I remember even in Navy Officer Candidate School I played it on a trombone that was in that was in our music room. I was in the marching band at OCS. This time I was playing the marching drum. That song is fun on any instrument. But of course THE GUITAR IS BEST! Thanks for the song.

    1. Richard,

That fireplace is a real one of a kind lol 🙂 I am glad you like this song and are digging into it, you will be fully prepped for the holidays this year 🙂

      Cheers,
      Tony
