Thanks, Tony! I was able to play along, and in tempo! So rewarding.
This Acoustic 101 Course is really making me use Pillar 3, “Reflect and Evaluate.” I’ve been playing almost 50 years (mostly electric rock) and used to think I was an OK guitar player. Wife gave me a very nice name-brand acoustic for a retirement present recently. Started Tony’s Acoustic Challenge about 6 weeks ago. And started this 101 course a few days ago as a review. Since then learned that I’ve been playing the A-maj chord wrong all these years. The correct way reduces buzz and sounds better. And I’ve realized that the way I’ve been holding my pick is kind of sloppy. A couple of days ago I started really trying to hold the pick like Tony describes in another lesson. It (the pick) is starting to feel a lot more secure in my hand . Here’s the thing… ever since I was 15 my motto has been, “if you can’t play good, play loud.” This works OK thrashing around on the electric, but doesn’t sound so great on an acoustic. My best fan is my 13-month-old granddaughter. Took the acoustic to their house and played for her last Sunday. She strummed the strings herself! Tony, I love these lessons and look forward to my practice every morning!
Matt,
Thank you for your kind words!!! I am so glad you are here and enjoying it!!! Also, it is great to hear that you are making this a family affair 🙂
Cheers,
Tony
SOSOSOS happy! My first time ever being able to play along with someone and I’m so happy it was with you Tony!!! Thank you for this one.
it’s starting to look a little less mysterious. that’s a good thing!!! practice, practice, practice.
It took a while to get the motions to finish this, but finally got it. I included this in warm up exercises. Felt like I was playing along with Tony. Took several times to get in synch.
This one I really got. Starting to feel more hopeful with my aging fingers. Big thanks.
Laura,
Nice work plugging away at the lessons!!! Keep it up!!!
Cheers,
Tony
This is an excellent series for people like me who aren’t beginners but have been away for a bit (as in decades) and need a refresher. I skip quickly through this and that but there are other things I spend time on that I’ve either forgotten or just never learned in the first place.
Steve,
Awesome!!! I am glad you dove into this course 🙂
Cheers,
Tony
Agreed. Nice work on all these lessons. Very well put together.
Robert,
I am glad you are digging this course!!! Thank you for checking it out!!!
Cheers,
Tony

Mark,

Cheers,
Tony
