Dear Bandman, so sorry for your injury and your hiatus from playing! I don’t recall which Acoustic Tuesday episode it was, but Tony featured some messages from the TAC community about how these members kept their routine alive even when they could not play because of injury. I wish I could recall the episode for you. If you like, I can dig into my memory to see if I can recall what those intrepid individuals did.

That is great, Earl! So glad this worked. I tried this with sandpaper that already has an adhesive back. Below is the search term from Amazon. I just wish I could share my roll of sandpaper, as I think it is enough for a couple thousand picks (at least)!

I think I answered my own question! I ordered a mic – will see if it works

Bringing music to the end of your medical seminar – I love it! I imagine that will be memorable for the participants. This year, I was really touched by the Jason Mraz song and video, “Love is Still the Answer”. In the video, he plays clips of videos people took at his request to “turn your camera to love” or something like that. I played the video for folks to whom I was giving performance reviews (at the end of the review) – it brought heart to the process.

MarkD66, really good to hear from you. I am glad to read of your VOM Saturday experience! I plan to attend this coming Friday’s VOM – I would like to play a Tom Petty song I am working on – I think I will do this even if it is in rough shape, partly to practice not feeling like I need to do “perfectly”. Good to be on the journey with you.

Thanks, Moonhare! It seemed to be an international group of people attending, which was really cool. I was thinking this was was of the silver lining aspects of not doing in-person open mics.

I often typed messages instead of talking as did many others. I don’t think the lack of audio will be a problem.

Bill, I had my moments of my fingers suddenly feeling like sausages that were not very much under my control. I opted to use music but next time I plan to do a memorized song, so I may fully embrace opportunities for brain freeze. Thanks for checking in!

People are so sweet and you don’t have to play if you don’t want to. I hope you do this, if you have the desire.

Your guitar had a very pleasing tone. I was at a guitar store yesterday and played a 000-28 that was really nice. Must plan for the future!

Vic, I really enjoyed my 1st VOM – just a lovely group of people playing music that was a pleasure to hear. I am amazed at how supportive everyone was. My computer kept on switching away from original sound. I am thinking of getting a mic for the computer. I will ask the TAC community if they have any recommendations of what equipment will work.
