Cool! a Jazz standard! Not something I have done, but I can’t wait to hear it!!!

Here is a really unintuitive way that memory works… Practice, then get good sleep at night, then try again the next day. Short term memory and motor skills are kind of transferred to long term during sleep or so I have read a couple places.
Now if I could figure out that good sleep bit, I would be Johnny Mnemonic!

Just a post with the links and an introduction to what the VOM’s are. This will allow people that are new to TAC to find out about the VOM events and get to the right links so they can participate.
Comments could even be turned off, to there is no further impact to the server.
I am guessing that while the TAC team supports the VOM’s they aren’t a part of the official product that they sell, and they want that distinction to be clear. The one that is stickied there now will probably disappear at some point, and this thread will eventually sink into obscurity.

MemberApril 2, 2021 at 5:21 am in reply to: Perspective from someone who has been around.. and aroundGlad I finally read this post. These headaches (the ones the dev team are feeling) and the long hours away from the family are why I quit programming. It is nice to hear similar thoughts to mine expressed. It is hard to impress folks that all they can do is be patient and trust the issues are being attended to. This was a pretty major rollout, including a significant data migration (I still have nightmares about those) from one data structure to a new one, let alone any myriad application layers that could be bottlenecking, and on, and on.
I’ve been booted several times myself during practice even. There have been small changes that show they are listening. And though it is hard to believe, performance has had at least a marginal bump since the launch.
So at least from my perspective it isn’t cheerleading but a realistic insight into how these things roll out in reality. I’m sure I’ve come across as a cheerleader a few times but… My experience is what it is. So 60-90 days of patience from me, and I will try to encourage others to do the same.

Congrats on doing your first VOM number!

I posted it here to make me accountable to you! If I don’t post a song a month, call me out!
I’m sure for the rest, I will post in the community help forum to vent frustration, seek motivation, and help along the way.

I will post something on it eventually.
I am working onUncle Johns Band
JoleneOn the uke. But alas today is not actually Uke day. (tomorrow is though :D)

For me (and this is clearer to me because I gave uke lessons at lunch last night on the subject of rhythm strumming) the up and down correlate to the rhythm of the bit. Like counting numbers and the & when teaching strumming down on the number up on the &
Learn the rules then learn when to brake them kind of thing. For now I am still learning the rules for cross picking. As far as plain old alternate picking, I think the rule is to end up heading toward the next string you intend to pick, while this doesn’t precisely apply to cross-picking, the rhythm theory seems to.
I could be wrong, I have been before and will be again.

Mu guess, and that is all that it is, is that they are or will be like fun bucks awarded for… Something, to be used to purchase something else, at some time when we get back to the future.
