@Kitman , @GerryB56 , @bugmeist , @the-old-coach I am almost finished on Week 4 right now. I am pleasantly surprised how much I like the newest Fretboard Wizard. He explained the CAGED navigation in more detail, which was super helpful. Just finished Week 4 – Day 1 ‘Foundation of Soloing’. LOVED IT! Yep, the new FBW has two thumbs up from me.

Thanks @escarpato for the post. I never really thought about taking my guitars in for any type of work. I had the same issue as @Kitman , with a fret that had a bit of an overhang. I just worked around it. I didn’t know that could be fixed. Again, good question.

good question. I would imagine you’d be measuring the height of the strings at a different point on the fretboard?? You might be able to go to a local guitar store and ask the same question. Take your guitar with you.

Hey there @the-old-coach ,I just wanted to touch base to see how you were coming along with the CAGED chords and scales. This is something I did for myself so i could work on the different scales per chord at a glance. I just started doing the CAGED section myself and I was getting a little confused on it. Looks like each chord has it’s own scale pattern. Having a visual always helps me out.

Congratulations on that long run. It doesn’t seem like it would be an issue to log on everyday but it is! I’m back on day 1 again. grrrrr

You are going to be using your index finger to barre your chord as you move up the neck of the guitar. Tony will go into more explanations and modifications as you get deeper into the chapter.

Seriously @Loraine, I still can’t finger pick very well with my 12 string. But, I’ll tell you what, your fingers will get stronger holding down that many string thou. I’ll be on the forum more. Just got away from it for a while.

You know @the-old-coach , I never thought about printing off the daily challenge. I get up super early (compared to my husband). I don’t do the challenges till later in the day because my computer room is next to the bedroom and my husband is still sleeping. All I had to do was print the challenge and take it into another room. ha ha ha….. Thanks. Besides that I can take notes on the sheet of paper.

I just went through the CAGE system myself and it hit me what your question was about. I just wanted to be sure you were were on top of things. It gets very frustrating when you start spinning your wheels. Believe me, I have been lost in the dark myself. I think when I’m done with the Fretboard Wizard, i’ll turn around and do it again. It can’t hurt.
