@KayMesser you are now on the guitar journey. I think it’s just no one wants to be made fun of. That’s why they don’t try. I remember not wanting to sing loud because someone would yell out ” is that a cat howling?”. Now, i don’t care (as much). Keep it up, there is a lot of support on the TAC site and you actually sound like us already. Good Luck, but it has nothing to do with luck, it’s hard work and your going to make it look easy. 🙂

@the-old-coach , Some of the challenges are freaking hard. but….. if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. I sat outside the other day (you know, where the neighbors could hear me) and played for about an hour. Maybe I didn’t play well, but I played. Something I couldn’t do last year. If I hadn’t practiced those times that I didn’t want to? I would never have progressed. You have to kick yourself in the a$$ sometimes. As for shopping? you need to take a cell phone with you. Call your wife and tell her your in the ‘lost kid’ area in store. Or you could hang out in the toy section and pick up one of the kiddy guitars and practice there till she finds you.,

@Mrfredsporty , don’t worry about it. A lot of times i’ll just download the tab and figure it out by myself. After I listen to how it “SHOULD” to played. hmmm…. i have to redo it. 😉

@Rosenjs2002@gmail.com , You just have to make a routine of it. When you pick up that cup of coffee in the morning grab your guitar at the same time. If it helps to print out the challenge and go to another room to practice, try that. Once it’s a routine you’ll get it done everyday.

It’s funny how we forget things. Saltwater are content work. Vacations are out of the question because you have to babysit fish and coral. Power failures! The thought makes me cringe. But, i’m glad i made the post, so i won’t be afraid of putting in a fresh water tank.

I had a salt water tank years ago. Ha ha ha… talked to my nephew and he reminded me of the LED ‘day lights’ the night lights, the wave machines, etc. I would be tied down to the house because they need content maintenance. But, good to hear the water won’t affect anything. I still might get a tank, just go with fresh water instead. Thanks all.

@Loraine , I am so sorry you are going through this. I’m with you, medication is my last resort. I was glad to hear playing your guitar might just help you. I was just watching a video on Shaky hands and playing the guitar. The statement was something on the order of get into a guitar routine where you are doing small segments of playing notes. You know….. something like our challenges. I’m sure you know we are all behind you.

There is nothing wrong with not using a pick and just using your thumb. I have learned that it’s best to at least now how to use one. I had the hardest time using a flat pick. Now i have it master (somewhat).

@Mrfredsporty , you should make a base line every so often with your songs. Its amazing to see the difference. 🙂

@Philb I just want to keep it on the cheap side. I can lose interest in it really fast. The first time they all come down with ick or the water overflows. They’ll all be tossed out. 🙂

@KayMesser You are awesome to include the link to this TAC session. A lot of good info from Sam. Just shows you how great the forum is. Hope this helps you out @Loraine and anyone else in the community with this issue.

Right now, my guitars are on the opposite side of where I would put a tank. But, i’m slowly migrating them to other rooms. If they are close by, I’m more to pick them up and play.

@Philb , I have a humidity monitor in my room. So i can keep an eye on it. I run a humidifier in my room in the winter and the humidity still stays on the low side so I think it would help. No, no no guitars are on the other side of the room.

I don’t know why my posts have been giving a ‘poem’ like appearance when I copy / paste from word? I guess i’ll have to take my chances with answering directly from the forum. I haven’t gotten the pink screen of death for awhile so they might have fixed that issue.
