    @Hebak , welcome to TAC. I’m sure you will like. Be sure to check the forum for many insights on guitar music.

    @Kitman , @Miru, @jumpinjeff I
    understand the frustration involved with learning the guitar. You have it in your head that you are going
    to be half way decent in a year, maybe year and half, and you’re not. I ran across the ‘chart’ maybe 6 months
    ago. It made me feel better seeing a
    rough estimate of how long it will take (with the hours you spend doing it). I consider myself a low level intermediate or
    high level beginner. Even thou, I go to
    other sites to download music to learn, I still like the routine of TAC. It just helps me stay focused. Love the forum, hearing the issues, etc. Also, I think I’m speaking for a lot of
    us. We no longer can get together at
    someone’s house to just mess around and play the guitar, concertina,
    whatever. Then is pretty much as close
    to that as we can get. Good luck all.

    @Miru , I found this on hubguitar site. It gives a rough estimate how long it will take per the amount of hours you play.

    @MiRu , I think TAC gets you
    started. Gives you the daily exercises
    for your fingers. Introduces you to
    different methods. But, Tony doesn’t really
    introduce you to songs. He wants you to
    be able to put a song together on your own.
    That’s my take on it anyway. If
    you go to my profile page, I have some sites listed that I use for learning a song
    and you’ll be surprised how the challenges have helped you out. Good Luck with your journey.

  • sometimes you just need a small break. Now, snap out of it and get into a challenge.

    @Mrfredsporty , that is why I like to go to different sites. I like TAC but sometimes hearing someone else’s interpretation makes a little more sense to me. Or maybe they add a little bit more. I find this as a ‘good’ small win.

    We’ll be ready for next year. Break the fans out and stack the tables with ice cold beers.

    @Loraine, I am totally bummed that I also didn’t play outside on porch day. I feel like a slacker! I think i’ll go out and sit on the swing and play a few tunes. We’ll have decent weather (Michigan) for a couple of months yet. I’ll start playing outside more and next year i’ll be ready. We’ll have to do a zoom meeting and force both of us out of the house!!

    @Loraine , You can’t hear pitch difference? I’m getting better at it, but, I wear hearing aids. When I’m practicing in the morning, I usually don’t wear them. So when my husband walks in my art studio and gives me that “what the heck are you doing” look. I know I’m playing too loud. ha ha ha.

    @the-old-coach ! What! are you living in the dark ages. You have an IPhone don’t you? or an android? Are you still using a dial up phone in your house? Maybe a party line? 🙂

    What the heck , a name change @N-lightMike! Your right, I called out the strings wrong. I was looking at thick to thin. The A string, 3rd fret is C. You and I were talking about learning how to sing in another post. I found some very good apps out there that will help. Just trying to match the pitch to what the melody is was a ground breaker for me. Plus it helps me adjusting my thinking to where those notes are. Thanks for calling me out for wrong information. Ha ha ha…..

    hmmm… I know there are 2 selections, IPad and IPhone. Mine is on my IPhone so I switched the selector from IPad to iPhone. I know I downloaded the free version from the app store to my iPhone. But, if this isn’t working for you. Here’s the online link, maybe there is some info on there. I can’t think of why it’s not working for you.
