Really smooth, @jonathandavid. The pick can still pull of a nice fake rake! You also had some very tasty lines along the scale going on there. Thanks for posting. Nicely done. 👍🍻

Fun to see some “smoke and fire” coming out an electric guitar @ted_h ! Sweet looking and sounding PRS. I enjoyed your feel and touch with lots of bending and emotion going on there. Thanks for posting that electrified improv 🎶🎸

Nice to see and hear you playing and soloing, @Loraine. You covered the scale nicely and included both the horizontal and vertical sections included in this weeks lesson. Nicely done! Glad you posted and thanks for sharing! Looking forward to a 3rd improv from you in the future 🎶👍

Nicely played improv @Jonathandavid ! Nice 3+minute exploration around

Thanks, @Loraine ! It was a fun exercise to work on, even if my “rake” is kinda fake. 🎶

Thanks, @Jonathandavid . Everything seems to be fine. Not sure why it froze on you. It’s cold here in Canada though, eh ?!? 😉☃❄

Good question, @Loraine ! For me, in some cases I think of the double open strings. We have a low E and a high E if ever part of the scale is on one of these strings. The same patterns will work on the other string in a horizontal scale. In drop D there is the low D on the 6th and middle D on the 4th string. In many cases, I already no the basic “open” scale for scales in C, Am, G, Em, D, etc. and sometimes go to them to add some variety. Another fun trick is to look at the chords that will be used in the back track. You can play single notes from these chords and they will also work with the scale to add a little spice. 🎶 Have fun!

Thanks, @Bill_Brown . That Takamine was my first “good” guitar. I had not played it for a while, so I thought it would be nostalgic to have a little dance with it on this Valentine’s lesson week! 😍

Thanks, @stevieblues ! I lost track a little at the end and the back track stopped, I tried to fade the volume out at the end on the track I posted at You Tube, but it looks like it just cut out. You can imagine I finished on a big fat Am barre chord at the 5th position 🤭
