I’m about 3.5 months ahead of you and I struggled with hammer-ons as well.
I ended up coming up with my own practice routine where I just hit any open string with my index finger. I repeated until I was able to make a sound. Then repeated with my other fingers.
This taught me how much force was needed and the correct finger position.
I still struggle with it depending upon the chord shape my fingers are holding, but it’s getting better every week.

I keep thinking I’m pretty good with my improv and then I see yours and see there is lots of opportunity for improvement. 😀

I would say to just stick with it, reading tabs will come. For me many of the daily challenges are challenging, so I just give it a good try and then move on. Over time I improve and they get less challenging. It’s a different learning style than I’m used to it but it seems to work.
As for the why, perhaps taking the Fretboard Wizard course would answer those questions for you. I’ve just started it and already some concepts are clicking into place that help me understand how everything ties together.

That being said I save links to every lesson in a spreadsheet so here are last weeks lessons.

Those are great wins!
I tried guitar (using another course) a year ago and quit after 6 weeks because I sucked.
I discovered TAC in June and the biggest thing it taught me was that yes I’m going to suck for a long time and it’s ok to suck. Just try and I will learn things in spite of myself. It’s also great that you were able to identify progress. It can be tough to realize because it is so slow.

That was great!
You also gave me some ideas on how to improve my improv with that sing (which I struggled with)

What do you mean when you say your consistency disappearing?
If you are referring to practicing everyday, what is it about TAC that brings you back everyday? There are lots of ways to motivate oneself. I use a 3rd party app to track my progress and streaks and that is enough to keep me motivated.
Is it the variety? That would be a little tougher for me to replicate outside of TAC, but I would probably do it by setting up a full month of practice sessions, listing what I would practice each day and follow that.
Basically what are you are getting from TAC at this point that helps your consistency?

I made a walkthrough. See if this helps.

Most of the lessons have 2 videos, the “Learn” video and the “Play” video (just like the daily challenges do).

And welcome to TAC.

I started off doing that and realized with alot of the TABs I really needed the video explanation, so I created a spreadsheet and saved the URL to the video as well. That way I can revisit it even after it has disappeared from previous months.
