I’ve found that it is so important to relax and “play through” your mistakes. This weekend my sisters came to visit me and I played for them. I had mistakes that I certainly noticed but if you confidently stay with your song no one else notices or cares. So celebrate showing up for yourself. I see one of your goals is to play confidently. Confidence isn’t perfection. It comes from confidently knowing you are having fun. Welcome to TAC.

I went back and rewatched that lesson. About 8 minutes in Tony seems to pick and E minor chord and inserts the lick between the chords. The picking pattern appears to me to be “Travis picking” (see Laura Bateman on You Tube for easy lesson on Travis Picking). It is 1, 2&3&4& [t,titmti]. But there’s not a tab for it. [T=thumb,i=index,m=middle]. I hope that is useful.

You are doing great. I’ve lived in Austin now over 40 years but grew up in Clovis. I think you will find your guitar journey with TAC most fulfilling and fun. I continue to love it. Soon you will start feeling like that hymnal will be much easier to master. Congratulations.

Congratulations. I loved Fretboard Wizard and I’m sure you will too. Just keep having fun with it all by making it your own journey.

Nice job. I can do this song but I’m struggling to play the verse with the exact rhythm that Tony uses. I want to get it since that rhythm takes me out of my comfort zone. You’ve got a good rendition. Way to go.

Quite appropriate for the day.

Hey. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. I agree with you.

Wow. That is almost 3 months! Congratulations.

I do some of Tony’s stretches. I also randomly stretch my hands and forearms at some slow time during the day, usually after working in the park or watching TV. Watching TV (which is something we all do too much) is a good time for me to pick up the guitar and just noodle on some scales. Good luck with your continuing guitar journey.

The lyrics can almost be spoken and be funny and effective. Good job with the melody line in the instrumental. The song was easily recognizable. And , of course, it’s such a fun song. HOWL, I mean, bhaaa.

If it is within the month you can go back to it by clicking in the challenge listing. If you marked it as a favorite you can go to your favorites. If neither then you can perhaps use the Joe T work around. My hard part is remembering the cutesy titles.

Sometimes kids relate to the simple, to the structured, to the emotional honesty. Lullabies rarely make the charts but there is a place for them in our musical world. Thanks for sharing.

OK, you asked for it. First, I like the idea of the decade 1960’s contrasted with being 60 plus years old. I like the little bridge because it breaks up the 1-4-5 chord progression. But the song is too long. If the audience isn’t a nostalgic 60 plus years old (which I am), it won’t stay with a slow and non-rhyming song that long. Of course, I’ve never written a song, so I am unqualified to say much more. You have more props for actually doing it. Keep at it. Thanks for sharing it and trusting us with itat this early stage.

Good for you!. You have a world of fun in front of you as you become an official Guitar Geek. So much to enjoy.

You can go to Skills Courses and it is listed there as Guitar Stretches, if that helps.
