Congratulations Moose. I would say your playing session record alone makes TAC worth it. You have made it through the hardest part of the learning. I have appreciated your participation in the Forum for sure. My best advise: the fasted way to get better (at your stage of the game) is to let go of where you think you should be. You have tackled consistency which is the hardest obstacle for those starting out. I know you did not solicit advise per se but there you go. Very lastly, get ready to have some of the presented panoply of dots connected as if by magic. in reality it will be the direct result of your effort and clear teaching.

Hi Rob, the biggest way you could accelerate your progress may be to slow down even more. If you take your beats down to 30 or 40 bpm it is 2 ish seconds per beat. The player will not do this. You will have to learn and then use a Metronome. I find myself at this speed frequently when learning new technique or unfamiliar sequence. The point of this is to get to a speed where both your mind and hands are relaxed and “in the groove.” Once the groove feeling is noted, slowly increase the speed. Going back is sometimes necessary too. This is the fun part: find that razor thin line of groove sense and slowly start moving it.

Cool cool. Hearing those moments are sometimes the difference between a good session and a great one for me. I will be look with care for your “Small Win” posts. I don’t want to miss out!

Thank you @John_Bolling_Hall , 5 years is a lovely age.
As I am hitting 9 my toneversasional skill stack has increased in complexity. It really does compare to what a 9year old kid expresses in conversation. 12 more years and I will have a BA. -
Thank you @Bill_Brown , Hopefully you find enjoyment in the playing. You would think it is automatic. I spent too long not recognizing what was happening…interfering with my own wacky expectations not connected to any logic. Getting that sorted out was when I found the next dimension.

I’ll be here, the results of hanging out here are the reward. I have learned a good deal from you as well @Loraine . Dom, Vic G, DeeDee, Trace, DaveH The Original (DTO), those guys are the OG.

Well hello there Stillhand @Carol-3M. You provided me the spring board for fast progress and the final frontier. Both from the same source. So glad you turned me on to the notion of the Tension manager…It was a game changer!!! The elimination of tension from my playing is ongoing…of course…someday though, maybe soon, it will be gone for good. Thanks for sharing your skill and artistry with me. It made a difference!

Thanks @albert_d : I have gone to school on many of your posts. Always a highlight! Respect and appreciation is mutual.

Duuuude!!! you are makin me laugh.

I can’t do open mic online either due to distortion. It could be just my cut rate bargain basement computer running chrome.

You and I are remembering differently. As long as the speed has been an option I clearly remember it being distorted in either direction fast or slow. I use Chrome. When the distortion bothered me I would switch to metronome. Sometimes I will slow it down to check something but, for me, the metronome is the better option, once I learn the sequence. There is more room to get better faster. Never never chase speed. Gotta sneak up on it so it does not know you are there.
