Hi, I tried to view you video but you have it listed private. For us to view you have to designate is as unlisted.
Even without looking at the video…if it happens across 4 different guitars, it is you. You can focus of striking that individual string softer. If this is a new concept to you it will be odd and seemingly impossible at first but I assure you (B string is my stick out like a sore thumb string) it is possible to tone it down individually. For me it was a function of focus, plus hours in the saddle so focused. I still have to be mindful or it takes over.

Ramble On man, your singing my song! It is funny how similar my own journey is to others journeys. Thank for sharing N-light. Makes me feel like I am in the right place.

Hi Ian, glad you are back. Wishing you fast progress as always.

I will go to the tab as a last resort if I can not get it just by listen/watching. It has been a while since I have needed to use them. I could never read as fast as I wanted to play so it was my tool of last resort. If you are, or have developed that skill or want to have it and see how it is improving your playing I would continue to use the tabs. If not, you can always come back and nail it down later should you need/want to.

Nice to see you Fred. I have done some looking myself. Nothing is TAC’s equivalent. Other good stuff out there but none fits the personal guitar trainer model. It has been the staple of my success.

Chuck pointed out one of the main tips. Slower is better to start. But wait there is more. Relaxation also mentioned is key!!! But wait there is more. Hit those strings as softly as you can (like a whisper) with your pick and then maybe after a few minutes strum as loudly as you possibly can. Then after a few minutes do the soft strum again. I found this helped me to control my strum motion which was way to much motion when I started. It helped me learn how to strike a strings loudly with control and precision. It did not take as much strength as I thought it did to tickle out the guitars max volume capabilities. Let the guitar do some work and you will save yourself some effort.

Congrats Paul. I am remiss to be out of contact. What an great encounter! I love the sentiment of, “you deserved whatever status you had reached.”
I’d put money in the hat. No charity…just deserved.

MemberJanuary 20, 2024 at 3:16 pm in reply to: Daily assistance for questions we might have on a lesson or challenge?I gave up on looking and went with listening. Served me better than I thought it would. I say that to give you confidence to trust your ears. It will get you way further faster than if you rely on your eyes. No doubt it is a process and it took me a long time…still learning actually…but as I look back on comparing sight vs sound method I could only get so far with sight. My music progress rocketed when I gave up on sight and worked off of sound.

Hit up the TAC guide in the side menu choices. It answers the questions you are asking.

thanks x 1000 right back at you Mark. You are in important part of my journey. You are a solution seeker. It was fun seeking together. I’ll not say good bye, only that i’ll see you soon. 🤞

@Carol-3M-Stillhand Elegantly stated. This is why I am grateful to have you as a mentor. Like Tony, you have a way of making the complicated, plain to understand!
@lollyt : what Stillhand said 😊

I love this Small Win Barbara. You are finding the keys to success at TAC!!!
I have no patience. This was a challenge I had to overcome. I reverse engineered my lack of patience and realized that if I jettisoned my expectations I would land squarely in the middle of creativity and faster progress. Expectation is where fun goes to die. I was no longer going to be “as good as” or be able to play “x” by this date. I was free to learn and progress as fast as my body and mind could process what Tony was trying to teach, without my added self imposed restriction.
