Yes, sadly the videos only have one speed now. I’ve been told they used to have 3 versions of each play along but when the site was updated they just kept one speed. With the video settings you can do 1x, 1.5x, 2x. Or, if you are like me for some exercises you can play at 1/2 speed. 🙂

Yay for starting! Celebrate every time you pick up the guitar, especially in the early days. The habit building from the program is so great.

Good Guitarist has a great video on YT for this song. I think you have to pay for the tab download, but he has great visuals in the YT video.

Every few weeks the Daily Challenge seems to change from using a pick to using fingerstyle. I personally like Fingerstyle better, but the pick lessons have really helped me with learning to stay on rhythm. The pick has also helped me learn where the strings are without looking at them as much as I did when I started.

If you go to the skill Courses Tony has a great fingerstyle focused course that I’ve done a few times. If you like music by John Prine, Blaze Foley, etc then Fingerstyle is good to learn. If you like Willie Nelson then a pick would be better. Lots of options for different tones and styles of playing.

I can relate to overuse soreness and it is great advise to not repeat mistakes often. Thanks!

That is excellent advise. I tend to get a bit single focused so this is a great reminder. Thanks.

I will check out Sweet Caroline as a beginner song to help me with building skills. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Thank you! I remember Tony once saying to practice “dreadfully slow.” I think I was so happy to see progress when I practiced my hands independently thinking it would translate to playing with both in unison. I will slow down to let them talk and work together!
