Way to lean into it Paul! I used to play bass guitar in a band a gigged a few times a month. Loved it and the more I did it the the easier it became to perform in front of people but a solo! Way cool!
Like Mark J., I am having difficulty remembering entire songs both instrumentally on guitar and lyrically.
Any pointers is appreciated.

It is a great feeling when someone else wants to join in on an activity you are passionate about but especially a family member; and a teen!?!?
That IS good stuff right there. A true blessing.
Thanks for sharing Mark.

Thanks for sharing this win. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with exercises and it doesn’t seem I am improving as quickly as I would expect. However, I am learning that once I move on to another exercise, then return to the one (I may not have mastered, the old one becomes easier and so, progress is happening even when it doesn’t seem so.

Hey Greg,
Ditto here.
I am returning after 20 years without a guitar. I learned the 3 finger way but have seen others using the 4 finger method. I like the sound of the 4 fingers but struggle with old habits too. I also think there are times when the 3 finger allows other transitions more easily.
My approach will be to learn both and apply them when appropriate. Besides, learning a new way develops synapses in the brain making new connections and opening the possibility to learn more and better.
I don’t think you can go wrong either way but taking the more challenging road usually results in better skills.
Have fun!

I ordered a 562ce last spring and received it over the summer. I will say it is worth the wait. I have owned Takamine and Alvarez 12 strings with standard scale/size dreadnought bodies and enjoyed the experience of the 12 string sound. After more than 20 years of guitar dormancy, I decided to learn again and have gravitated to smaller body guitars. Like you, I have a GS mini and Talyor GT, which is a smaller guitar, and I have a Taylor 322e, which is akin to the 562. The 12 string is my most recent purchase as I wanted the 12 string experience, but my taste in guitars had changed over the years.
My opinion is that if you like smaller guitars and want a 12 string to add to the guitar family, order one of these. It is easy to play, easy on the finger, sounds jangly, but because it is all hardwood, it is sweet-sounding and not tin-y. I am a Taylor enthusiast for my own reasons but the profile of the 562 is unique and you won’t find one like it on the market. Nice case too.
My only regret is that I did not know they would make it without the cutaway which would have been my preference, otherwise, I am very happy with mine.
I don’t think you will find one in a store so order from your reputable Taylor dealer and enjoy!

Hi @Moonhare,
There are many options in the program and the forums look fantastic! I am dabbling with the portal and will begin the 30 days to play challenge as a refresher.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hey @jumpinjeff,
Good advice. I need to focus, observe, and reflect. The last one is difficult but working on it.
Thanks,
