That’s cool, @WAMGOC . What are you referring to at the G maj Blues scales? Do you mean the G major pentatonic? Or are you practicing the pentatonic scales with the blue note thrown in?
Whatever you are learning, good for you. Have loads of fun.

@TMutter , I just love your music. I was happy to hear you talk about the FW course yesterday and the understanding that you needed a way to find a sound that is more different from your previous songs. The good news is that your current sound is so good and your lyric writing is so moving and memorable that it’s not a big deal. Just keep those amazing songs coming.
But, ultimately, it’s almost like re-writing the same song over and over with different lyrics if your guitar chops doesn’t evolve, so good on you. I really look forward to continuing to watch your progress.
I know I’m not supposed to compare myself to others, but I can’t help but say I wish I could write lyrics like you do. I’m not even kidding when I say I believe your lyrics are as good as anyone I’ve ever heard. I mean anyone. Paul Simon, John Denver, Carol King, Joni Mitchell. There are a bunch of them, so don’t let it go to your head, but yeah, I think your lyrics are as good as they get. Personal opinion. Of course, we could never believe that of our own lyrics. So you don’t have to agree with me. 😅
Anyway, I would love to hear the version with the 2 guitars. I think minimal is perfect for this song. Excellent song. Thanks for posting, Terry. You are an inspiration to me.

Hello @HeyJude ;
There was an issue where people weren’t seeing the tab icon below the right corner of the window. But, they could still open the tab by hovering around there until their cursor arrow turned into a little hand, then clicking. It’s there even though you can’t see it.
Hope this helps.

I don’t know what app you are talking about @Irish_ayes . I can only assume that there is an app to have TAC on your phone.
Whatever app you are talking about, obviously it must be connected to TAC, so the simple answer is to get a hold of “support”, on the bottom of the left navigation pane.

Hey @AlteredGoods ;
The Yamaha FG400 is a great guitar, period. And yes, it’s a great guitar for the money. But it’s a good guitar period.
So, the letter after the FG400. Common is to put an E after which means it has electronics and/or a C which means cutaway. Yours has neither electronics or a cutaway, so it’s “just” an FG400. Many would think that’s actually better.
Enjoy the ride. The most important rule now and everywhere along your guitar journey is to HAVE FUN!

Hey @SteveDyer ;
Tony has a video somewhere on YouTube about using a metronome. And like @Cadgirl said, there are a ton on YouTube by others. But, you don’t need a video.
Using a metronome is actually fun when you start using it regularly. You will find a lot of ways to use it to challenge yourself. But let’s start with using it for chord transitions.
Ok, so first, start by learning the chord shapes without a metronome. Go from one chord to the other and back very, very slowly. Literally, as slowly as you can move. Watch how your arm and wrist and fingers change position to go from on to the other. Do that a lot. Do it until you can make the transition smoothly. Only then, will the metronome help instead of hurt. You don’t want to rush while you’re teaching your muscle memory how to make the shapes and go from one shape to the other.
But, when you’re ready, it’s a really good idea to use a metronome. The purpose isn’t to speed up your transition, the purpose is to slow down your tempo so you have enough time to make the chord transition IN TIME. It’s really important to keep the beat, one, two, three, four, change, one, two, three, four. Make that metronome go as slow as necessary to make that transition between the four beat and the one beat. And then make sure you are strumming with the metronome. DON’T SPEED UP.
Playing in time is what will make your transitions better. When we do it without a metronome, we tend to go faster from one to four than from four to one. It’s really important to keep a steady tempo.
It works even if you don’t watch a video. It works even if you don’t understand. I just works. I know because I’ve done it. But, I encourage you NOT to trust me. Do not take my word for it. Run your own experiment and see if it works.

Thank you so much, Bob @bugmeist . I am grateful for your letting me know my comments have inspired you. I want to give back because I have been inspired by so many others. I am happy to be a part of this wonderful community and Tony’s great teaching method.

Yeah, @SoCal_Ian ; the old TAC was pretty special. “All things must pass away” according to George. The only constant is change. So, here we are. I have gotten a ton from the philosophy and the community, not as much from the lessons. Or at least, that’s the way it seems. But the lessons are sneaky, and somehow, I have gotten better. I made hardly any progress in the past simply playing songs. For a long time, probably 2 years at least, I did the lessons faithfully. I don’t do them as faithfully. But I still check them out every day and still find benefit in trying to get the lesson down.
Anyway, we all have different ideas of what we like. No matter how much something helps others, if I don’t like it I just won’t get the same benefit. So I totally get where you’re coming from. But for me, Tony’s method and his lessons are just what I needed.
I’m glad you still stop in once in a while. Thanks for reading and responding. See you on a VOM soon.

I totally get the “poser” syndrome, Terry. Have you ever heard of outsider music? Look up the Shaggs, who made a single album back in the 70s (74 I think). Listen to their music. At first it’s really easy to think “this sucks! Who would listen to this garbage?” Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain really liked the Shaggs. They are super authentic.
What it did for me was to give me legitimacy. The Shaggs have a cult following. Some people think their music is great. I don’t know why, but after listening all the way through the album, I actually started to like them. I go back and listen to their album once in a while. I always come away inspired to write more songs and just not care who likes what I come up with.
Let me know if they help with the whole “poser” thing. Oh, and don’t just listen for 30 secs and turn them off. Do yourself a favor and find 1/2 an hour by yourself and close you eyes and listen to the whole album. It will change your view on music and musicality. It will empower you if you let it.

Yes, @Cadgirl ; there is much about this new platform that is less than what we could hope for. However, it is the best teaching site out there. Tony and Levi have committed to this platform now and there is literally nothing that can be done now but to try to address issues. The main issue is we are learning to play guitar BETTER on a daily basis. That’s a pretty huge thing and, in my mind, makes up for all the rest.

Yes, @jumpinjeff ; you have helped me to understand this, and now I have the privilege of passing it on to another. How cool is this community?

Thank you @Cadgirl ; just passing on wisdom I’ve gained from others. It’s wonderful to be a part of this community of guitar geeks who are always progressing.
