    Oh, one thing I want to add. TACing like this is possible because I’m a lifetime member. I no longer have to weigh the value of what I get from TAC against what I’m gonna pay when my subscription expires.

    Now the funny thing is, since I’m not “weighing” the value of TAC, I can get more value out of it. TAC absolutely is helping me to keep growing and keep motivated and giving me excitement and fun. So I don’t have to question whether it’s “worth it” for me. It is definitely worth it!

    Hey @Guy_H ;

    I’m really glad I don’t actually have to say “good luck on your continued guitar journey” as I will continue to be a part of your continued guitar journey.

    Had I not signed up as a lifetime member of TAC, I would have left by now. But because I did, I get to keep TAC as the nucleus of my guitar journey.

    But I now realize that I could stay on my guitar journey and continue progressing without TAC being my center piece.

    I look forward to seeing your continued progress on the VOMs.

    @Cadgirl , @Marquita , @albert_d ;

    I’m happy to help. I’m glad this was worth checking out. Standard music notation is worth learning if you haven’t.

    😅 Yeah, Mark @the-old-coach , I thought the same thing when I typed that line out. I have written over 10 songs since early spring and I just finished one. So I guess I’m starting to think in lyrical form. That’s cool. 😎

    Gotta love the process. It really works. And I really love having music in my life.

    Yeah, it’s great being a lifer… at least here on TAC, @ChuckS . 😂

    I have multiple guitars, but I’m funny. I want to keep my focus narrow enough I can really stay on track and progress. As time goes on, I broaden out. It’s not the right way or the best way, it’s just the way I choose. Someday, I’ll get to open tunings. Hey, I’m using a pick now. I thought I would never bother with a pick. I can use both a flat pick and a thumb pick with fair proficiency.

    I’m glad you enjoy my posts. I like to put my thoughts down, then I can remember them better and apply my own insights. Otherwise, they just blow away in the wind and get scattered among all the other leaves.

    Thanks again, Chuck. Would love to see you on a VOM sometime. 😉

    Yeah, @albert_d , lot’s of good memories. But that was very well said, the spirit of playing consistently survives and is flourishing. My guitar journey has continued to improve, and TAC has had a lot to do with that. In fact, TAC started that. I owned a guitar, but I had no acoustic life. That started when I joined TAC. And what a ride it’s been. And I’m so glad to be able to continue with TAC.

    Thanks for the support, Albert. We would love to see you on the VOMs sometime. 😉

    Thank you for reading and replying @GerryB56 .

    I can certainly understand your dilemma regarding your membership running out. I’m glad it’s not right away.

    Hey my ol’ pal, @the-old-coach ;

    You kinda captured what I was trying to say. I like the Funkified Blues now only because I have made enough progress to learn it. I won’t lie, it is really challenging. But I think I can get it with work. And there are 2 things I really want. I want to be able to do the mini barre, especially being able to add hammer ons to it, because there is a whole world that opens up with it. And muting strings gives you so much more punch and variety to your rhythm.

    Anyway, thanks for your support, Mark.

    You always make me smile, @jumpinjeff . Thanks for the ongoing support and friendship. Oh, by the way, I am getting better with the metronome and the pick. Always new things to work on. 😎

    Hey @the-old-coach ;

    First of all, you are totally welcome. It is a real pleasure to be able to give back to others in some small way. I have been given so much.

    One of my biggest contributors is @jumpinjeff . Sometimes I have to really think about what he just said before I get it. I read your comment and his comment twice before the significance of what he said hit me.

    He said to abandon the idea of “elapsed time”. So, you said it was going to be a “s-l-o-w” process. Ok, that’s not what our guitar journey is about. It is about exploration, and while we are exploring, we are having fun. While you are truly engaged, you don’t think of time. That only distracts us.

    Thanks, for the gagillionth time, jumpin jeff. Like Mark, I tend to think instead of enjoy. I will work hard to engage my “pleasure centers” whenever I have my guitar in hand. (I just heard some old guy say that in a video last night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BpUOCfAVB0 One of those “lessons” that isn’t much about guitar technique and more about inner feelings and intent.)

    Hey @rudygilbertigmail-com ;

    You just hit the nail on the head. 10 minutes a day, that’s the “secret weapon”. Now, there’s actually more, way more, to Tony’s teaching and method and this site. But that’s what makes us all a very different player, right from the beginning. We pick up the guitar… everyday. Then we just follow Tony’s lead. Eventually, we figure out that if we can come up with our own plan, we can do this ourselves.

    For over a year, I did all the lessons just using fingerstyle. I did the flat pick lessons fingerstyle. Now, I have gone back to using a flat pick, but I still prefer finger style.

    Hey @the-old-coach ;

    Sounds to me like you have learned this stuff fine. You just explained it above. It’s really as simple as knowing what string the root is on.

    What you need now is to internalize it. Make those pathways in the brain well worn with use and practice.

    In guitar, it’s actually important to see the difference between learning and practicing. Learn slowly and accurately. Practice frequently and push the speed.
