Yah!, I’m with you @stevieblues . I attended the TAC party with serious reservations. But now I am SOOO glad I was there. Tony never fails to inspire me, and he always seems to get others to give inspiration also. He even got me to give some of that precious stuff yesterday.

This is a wonderful example for all of us @Guitargeezer-Jack . And you will be the one to reap the rewards. I have dragged my feet on this sort of stuff, but when I have done it I see results. Thanks for the inspiration.

I look forward to meeting you in person.

Hey @Schroder , I love what @That_Guy and @jumpinjeff said. I couldn’t remember the lessons for a long time. But as I became more familiar with music on the guitar, I started remembering just because the licks and rhythms and even the scales and warm ups started to make sense. And songs are a whole different thing. They are simply a repetition thing. When I first learn a song, I have to remember to play it frequently in the first few weeks, especially that first week. But over time, I can play a song once every month or two and still remember it. Music is it’s own mnemonic. The chords help you remember the lyrics, the lyrics help you remember the melody, the melody helps you remember the chords. It’s crazy but it’s true.

So as has been said, just play, practice and have fun. It’ll all fall into place.

Hello @AntPagan_ , I second the above comments. Use light/extra light strings and get a set up. I use 10 -47s as @jumpinjeff mentions. And I do use 11 -52s on one or two guitars as @tailsawaggin mentions. That gauge is still not too bad but does give a little more umph to your sound. But I didn’t use the 11s until I had built up my callouses.

I was one of the ones who received your help at the beginning, @Michael-K73 . You pretty much single handedly made the old forum so special. You could still exercise your gift of supporting and encouraging others on this new platform. But paying yearly has diminishing returns for everyone, so I understand. In fact, I saw that at the beginning and decided to pay for my “3 years” up front so I wouldn’t have to reach this point with my TAC membership.

I wish I had gotten the opportunity to have met you in person. I know I would have liked you. But I’m pretty sure you would not have felt the same about me, so it worked out for the best. I certainly don’t want to imply anything about you in the previous statement. Most people find it difficult to like me after getting to know me better.

Anyhow, I know that your guitar journey will go on. I hope that you find all the happiness and fulfillment that you have given to others.

I wasn’t a part of your breakout room, @Bill_Brown , but I had a moment when I saw your little picture and I thought, “oh, that’s Bill Brown”. So I get what @Moonhare is talking about. It’s really cool to feel like we are meeting and getting to know people through TAC and the Zoom events. That’s why I love the VOMs.

yeah, @tailsawaggin , this advice about the importance of rhythm is great. I’ve seen the truth of this but still struggle with wanting a perfect chord and stalling out the rhythm. Thanks for the reminder. Especially as I am planning on playing with another guitarist soon.

Thank you @Guitargeezer-Jack , for your supportive comments. But us connecting is the really big deal. TAC has been instrumental (pun intended) in getting numerous people together, including across that little pond between us and Europe (another pun I’m trying to ignore). Maybe we’ll be able to record some of our guitar jam when it happens and post it on TAC. That always inspires others. I know it has inspired me when I see videos of people TAC brought together.

    Hello Kate ( @brokat7@gmail.com ),

If you have already paid for the Fretboard Wizard Course, then you can access it at any time. It will be a little star icon on the lower left of your screen. If you have not paid for the FB Course and have to wait, understand that Tony and Levi and their team have been very busy for many months now porting over to this new platform. This necessarily set some things back, but it was something that needed to be done.

Learning the guitar is a lifelong journey. After trying numerous sites and personal instruction, I believe this is the best guitar instruction available, so I was willing to be patient as they moved to this platform and worked out the bugs. We are starting to see the benefits now. I imagine that the Fretboard Wizard course will start in the next month or so, since we are getting close to the end of the year. We will see.

I hope that you are having fun and seeing improvement in your guitar journey. If that is the case, you are already “there”. The improvement that you experience from here forward is simply a bonus.

Yes, I would like that Jack ( @Guitargeezer ). In fact, I’d love to mess around with it myself if (when) I get over to your place to jam with you.

P.S. I didn’t get a notification for this comment. I’m not sure why. I came by just to see if there was any update. You can “tag” me by using the “@” symbol and my “nickname”, “MikeGaurnier”, as I have done above for you. That way you know the person gets a notification that you have made a comment to them. 😉
