That’s really great @Alfred. It’s really not that hard to do most of the work on guitars or other stringed instruments. It really helps us feel like “real” guitar players to be able to do it. I bought a piece of junk guitar for $20 bucks shortly after joining TAC and did a bunch of work. Once you get past the fear, you can take care of your own instruments to a large degree.

And yeah, any kind of dust is more damaging than we might think. A dust mask obviously can’t stop a virus, but at least all this silliness has made us more aware of using masks when they do actually work.

Congrats @LC_Smith. It sure does feel good to improve in our basic guitar skills. And h’ons and p’offs are such a great sounding technique. Improvement that is apparent to us leads to more improvement. Tony’s system is wonderful.

That’s great @Mike Hutchinson. That’s really what it’s about, having the fingers learn to what they need to do. This is great progress. And it’s wonderful reaching the point where you feel like a guitar player.

P.S. The unique naming system doesn’t recognize spaces. The system will recognize your unique name if you replace the space with a hyphen or an underscore.

Awesome @punder. I sure do hope you get it worked up. And you just have to record it for us now. You can’t tease us like this.

It’s wonderful to reach this point where music is just happening from within you.

How fun this is @Simon. Making progress on the guitar and you’re able to record it. Nice. 😀

That’s awesome @Simon. Like @darcelle said, these little mental boosts will add up to better guitar playing. But in the meantime, we are having fun. Just can’t beat that.

I think what impresses us so much about this project is you just committed to it, so you just do it. You don’t know what you’re gonna play on day 100. You don’t know how you keep finding songs. You just do it. And you are growing. And we are being inspired. So it is working great. Keep up the great work.

Wow, “I’m stressed so I’m just gonna let go and let this flow out of me”. That’s what you did. That was fantastic.

Oh, and the singing and playing was good, also. You are making such progress it is a privilege to watch.

One more big compliment, the audio. You have a mic that works best at picking up area sound. Omni direction mics aren’t good at close up work. You moved back and lowered the gain. You had plenty of gain to pic up your voice and guitar. But it wasn’t sensitive enough to pick up the room reflections. And because you were playing “live”, you balanced your voice and guitar, just like when you play in the livingroom for your husband. Your sound was great.

The whole thing was just wonderful. Way to go.

I don’t agree. I thought there was a lot wrong with the old platform. I think the new is much better. Obviously, Tony and Levi thought the old platform needed improvement. But we all have to make our own decision. I hope you don’t make a decision to leave until this site is running smoothly. Then, you will have a basis for comparison to the old site.

That’s excellent Louis, and it was great to meet you today on the SNL VOM. If you have played so much you have blisters on your fingers, you are in good company. 🤣

PS, Louis is probably spelled differently in Portuguese, but I don’t know how to spell it. I couldn’t even spell Portuguese correctly without the spell checker. 🙄

Jesse, you said “it’s a little dishonest to say that the Jam Clubs were not a part of the deal”.

Like @Dom_T , I don’t know what commercial you are talking about. But I do know That there are tens of thousands of TAC members all over the world. And there were only about 40 some Jam Clubs, mostly in the US, and even there, mostly in some larger cities. What this means is that Jam Clubs were never available to most members of TAC. So it does not seem likely that Tony would ever had made Jam Clubs “part of the deal”. That would be a huge liability.

But, Jam Clubs are most definitely “part of the deal” if you are talking about the opportunities open to you by being a part of TAC. There was no Jam Club in the US city I live in when I joined TAC. The opportunity I had as a member of TAC was to find other TAC members and create a Jam Club. And that’s what I did. That was not guaranteed to me in exchange for the money I spent. But it never would have happened without the boost TAC gave to my Acoustic Life and the amazing community I joined.

One of the reasons I love TAC and want to defend it is because Tony and everyone on the TAC team have good motives. They sincerely want to help you and me have more joy in our guitar journey and make improvement in our guitar skills.

The upshot of all the positivity here on TAC is “no harm, no foul”. Dom has given you an invitation to join a jam at his house if you are ever in the area. You can look me up and see where I am. I, too, will gladly invite you to a jam if you are ever in my area. That’s how we roll. 😁😎😍
