I am glad you have found your way back. Change is always challenging. And new software is always buggy.

Have you followed the “Quick Start” link on the left? It’s a little lightning bolt icon. It explains how to set up your profile so your name will work correctly. The spaces are not supported. You can use hyphen, underscore, or period. But the last I knew, the period wasn’t working.

I’m not sure I can add anything to what you’ve said @Maydog , but I totally agree. I must have the next chord or lyric in my brain before I start making the move or I just go blank. Also, I have run across the advice to play with my eyes closed or play in the dark more than once. It works. 😃

The truth? You want to do both. Every guitar player, as they make advancement, ends up learning several ways to play the same chord. And there are many reasons to play both ways. @Michael-K73 already mentioned using your pinky to fret other notes when playing open chords. Well, you can fret different notes with the index if you use your middle, ring and pinky for the open chords. The better your fretting hand gets, the less difference it makes how you fret any given chord. What will matter is what is best for the song/ progression your playing. 😃

That’s pretty funny John… your win is also your loss. I’m glad you got kindle fire working so you don’t <i style=”font-weight: bold;”>have to get a new ipad. That’s certainly a win as it’s not fun when we have to do something. However, it’s very cool when we <i style=”font-weight: bold;”>get to do something. If you wanted, you could still go out and buy a new ipad. You could use the only real excuse we ever have: because you wanted to. 😁

I love your great outlook Beth. I think this new platform will boost our guitar journey a lot. As far as the problems, there are always problems when software is new. The TAC team is working hard to smooth things out. In the mean time, we have a lot we can do to continue our guitar routine.

Thanks Dan. I have been using the song vault since the change, but I hadn’t found the tabs. I didn’t care as I had most of the tabs downloaded. But I’m glad to know how to get to them in case I want to do a song I don’t have the tab for.

No problem @Dan J G. Hey, one thing, your name still isn’t working. They seem to have fixed that. If you went to your profile and took out the spaces, it would work. So Dan-J-G would be accepted by the system. And supposedly, Dan.J.G would be accepted. So you might try that as it’s easier to type. The periods weren’t working before, but they might be now. 😄

Also, I am going to remember what @branman explained above. I had figured it out before, but didn’t remember. His explanation was so simple that it helps me visualize it so I can remember without some big brain effort. 🤨
