Verse 1
Those delta boys weren’t lying when they said they got the blues,
The years they keep a flying and I think I’m in their shoes,
Cos I’m a hip poppin, knee lockin, case of the tin can blues.
So you can take me for spares and repairs when I’m done with the blues.
Verse 2
My hip is a replacement, just got my second knee,
My wife looks fine through cataracts so I think I’ll leave them be
But I’m more metal than man, with a case of the tin can blues.
So you can take me for spares and repairs when I’m done with the blues.
Verse 3
Haven’t seen the second storey, of my house in 20 years,
My staircase is an Everest and I don’t have the gear,
Cos I’m a hip poppin, knee lockin, case of the tin can blues.
So you can take me for spares and repairs when I’m done with the blues.
Verse 4
Gonna need a bigger furnace, when I shuffle off this coil.
Just find a big volcano and then bring me to the boil,
Cos I’m more metal than man with a case of the tin can blues.
So you can take me for spares and repairs.
Recycle ! Reuse !
I’m more metal than man with a case of the tin can blues.
Outro
Hush baby what’s that sound? Every little joint just grinding down.

I always love your playing but combined with your vocals this is really special. I loved the falsetto notes to push your range up. So cool.
-
You have battled through so much it is brilliant that you can get a song like this off. Interesting tuning too – never come across that before. Keep on going and posting.
-
That is truly inspiring. It’s what I want to do over the next 90 days so I’m off now to get on the slide course and see what it’s all about.
-
You know I have never actually read any of the TABs so I’m with you there. I just watch and listen. Both are good disciplines to have though so well done on using both.
-
It’s always amazing when you have a breakthrough like that so well done and keep going. Onwards and upwards!
-
Yeah that one is a big challenge. I am still finding myself avoiding it – like this week’s Friday challenge – but at some stage it will have to be conquered. Well done on your progress.
-
Keep on going. It’s the habit that gets the results.

Much more chilled about playing than I expected so looking forward to more.
-
Thanks – it was really good fun. can’t wait for the next one.
-
Yes – busy week ahead so may have to wait a few days but I will record it for sure.

I had fun writing it with Scones in mind. It also taught me how to play a blues, my first try at that on guitar even though I have played blues on keys before. Thank you for all your support. It has meant a great deal to me to feel that there are friends out there who we can all rely on for help.
