Great news. I saw this pop up on Just Music Geeks and was going to reply there but instead I’d just like to say that this is so well deserved and a credit to all involved back stage too. I assume you’ll release the next one on bandcamp too? How do you find that as a platform for releasing tracks? I’m interested.

Absolutely. As Tony always says it is your guitar journey and you get to choose. I have been writing and rehearsing a couple of songs for my first ever Virtual Open Mic next Thursday so the daily challenges have gone on hold a bit. But I will go back to them afterwards and see how I get on. Well done on getting that psychological barrier removed. If you don’t already go the I’d thoroughly recommend the 90 Day Progress parties too. Chance to connect with Tony live plus meet fellow TAC members for a chat. Keep on rockin’ 🤟😎🎸

That would be awesome although I have a way to go as far as consistency of playing which I’m hoping will start to improve once I’m doing open mics. First one coming up this Thursday. 😬🎸

I don’t think I’ve linked in to anyone else’s guitar course but are we allowed to link to useful free access guitar tutorials on YouTube? I have certainly done that in the past. It is a tricky one isn’t it? I know you have been incredibly active supporting fellow TAC members and that is such an important part of being here. Just hoping you don’t feel stifled by it and thanks for what you do.

I know the feeIing! Barre chords are hard on acoustic, less so on electric. But do bear in mind there is just SO much you can do without them that you shouldn’t beat yourself up too much if you don’t get them for a while. I just posted a Play For Us called The Coming Storm that uses mostly double stops (two note chords) and drone strings. Works a dream.

Just one last tip if you really want to learn barres I have been told by a very experienced guitarist you should start by learning power chords. Tony does have power chords in one of the tutorials but apparently if you can’t play these three note chords, you will struggle with barres. They are a kind of stepping stone to getting your hands ready for the full stretch. Worth a try and something I’m going to do this year to see if I can make any progress. He is right there. The ridiculous thing for me is I’ve played thousands of gigs, from small pubs to Festivals and Arenas…. but I was playing keyboards 🎹. And now I’m more nervous about playing an acoustic guitar to a dozen friendly TAC family members from the comfort of my own studio! Go figure. 🤟😎🎸
