Thanks for posting as this song will always have such a place in my heart. I put it on a mix tape for my (now) wife when she was just 18. Then in 2006 we spent a week on a Harley riding Pacific Highway 1 in California for our Honeymoon. First day we stopped at a bar for a drink and there was a guy playing acoustic guitar in the garden and he started playing “our song”. After he finished I went up and told him what it meant to us and how perfect it was to hear it and it turns out he wrote it! He was a young staff writer for a record label when he wrote it and it made it’s way to Kansas who loved it… the rest is history. It is definitely on my list to learn for Sue’s birthday present now.

Just brilliant picking on this. Keeping the rhythm going along with the lead works really well. Impressed. 🤟😎🎸

It’s got a great rhythm and a slightly more spoken vocal type tone to it, hopefully not too far in the direction you don’t want to go… and it’s just COOL! 🤟😎🎸 Happy new guitar year.

Lovely playing and singing. Great to have that medley and keeping it all going so fluidly. Thanks for posting.

You are nailing getting the right sections to match the chord changes over Tony’s backing so keep on going and it’ll all get even more fluid. Great stuff.

Original Song Development "The Counter"The basic track is solid – absolutely no problems there – but bringing in a feature instrument like the harmonica does elevate it and bring a texture an tone that creates a really beautiful lonesome atmosphere. @DianeD has a good point about the arrangement. I’m not so bothered by it in the first verse but from a purely songwriting point I would always leave something in the tank for later and saving this to bring added texture later on would do just that. Great work! Really enjoyed this. 🤘😎🎸 – Darren [Moonhare]

Thanks so much. I know where I’ve still got to get to and it’s great to have those targets. Looking forward to the 90 Day Progress Party on Dec 5th. Hope you have a very happy new year.

You know I wish my fingers (or at least my pick!) would move faster but it’s better now than when I started in April so at least I know the TAC method works!. Good luck with your guitar journey in 2022 and thanks for this encouragement. It means a lot.

Thanks and a very happy new year to you. 2021 was grim in so many ways but joining the TAC community was a huge boost and the best investment I’ve made in years.

Thanks Kim. I had a blast working it out and I know where I want to imprive on it too.
