  • Dust in the Wind -2021 Wrap Up

As soon as I discovered this song has the same chords as Landslide, I was all over it! Although chords are similar, it is very different…but putting your time in here puts two awesome songs in your repertoire. It is still a work in progress. I stop before the beautiful violin bridge- (I did find some decent chords that work so I will share in case you want to play through-Am, Am, G/Am, G/Am, F/Am, F/Am F/Am, F/Am 3x’s )

They just don’t and can’t compare to the fiddles – which is the only thing I can hear when I play it.

I put this together rather fast, but maybe I will post with vocals if I get some time to put that all together. In the meantime- Happy New Year to my TAC family!

Nice job for putting together so quickly. Your chord transitions never seem to amaze me, because I still struggle with them. Nothing sounds smooth and definitely not fast like you do. Great job – looking forward to the vocals.

Thank you so much for picking up on that @[email protected] I usually add vocals as soon as I have a grasp of the music. With this song, I wanted to play it with the dynamics I felt and as clean as possible. My goal is never to mimic a recording, but to find my own voice, so to speak. Thanks for listening. ✌🏼

I know what you mean @Christopher_H. I wonder if that elusive effortlessness will ever click in… I’ll just keep enjoying the ride. ✌🏼😎

Thanks for posting as this song will always have such a place in my heart. I put it on a mix tape for my (now) wife when she was just 18. Then in 2006 we spent a week on a Harley riding Pacific Highway 1 in California for our Honeymoon. First day we stopped at a bar for a drink and there was a guy playing acoustic guitar in the garden and he started playing “our song”. After he finished I went up and told him what it meant to us and how perfect it was to hear it and it turns out he wrote it! He was a young staff writer for a record label when he wrote it and it made it’s way to Kansas who loved it… the rest is history. It is definitely on my list to learn for Sue’s birthday present now.
