That’s beautiful. And live! EEK! Thanks for posting. That was a wonderful way to chill out with some fabulous jazzy chords.

Late to the party here and probably just repeating everyone else’s great advice but I think it’s important we are all here for each other. Although I got through the 30 days OK in that time I certainly wasn’t getting it all perfectly. At last week’s 90 day TAC online party I committed to revisiting it this month, which I am doing after 6 months of TAC. I am so boosted about how much easier the challenges are now than when I joined. That’s the journey! Take it at your own pace BUT don’t feel you have to do all those perfectly before you move on. Go back to ones you want to in your daily sessions but feel free to dip in and out of the daily challenges too. I found those quite intimidating to start with but now I’ve settled into a routine of giving them a go I suppose I get about 2-3 per week that I can play at the 1x speed, perhaps 1 I can do faster and the others I attempt and don’t really get down. I NEVER say FAIL with those challenges I can’t do because it isn’t a failure to try to play something outside your comfort zone and not get it. That is the ONLY way you IMPROVE. Even Tony admits to having things he can’t play and so strives to get better at. Best of luck and sorry for the ramble. Darren

Sorry no but I can see where you’re coming from. Trouble is from the reasearch I’ve done online carbon fibre guitars tend to be more expensive than wood ones so he may struggle at that proce bracket. Worth contacting a few of the online guitar shops for advice. Alamo Music for example (https://www.alamomusic.com/) have a great YouTube channel with lots of advice on guitars and could give some guidance but there are any number out there. Best of luck – Darren

It is a great first step getting through the TAC portal. I’ve had the best 6 months of guitar playing of my life after joining and my playing is improving so much with those regular playig slots. Stick with it. Even the 10 minutes in a day keeps you on track but I find I get sucked in and play loads more. And use the forums. Everyone on here has been so supportive if you run into a problem. I can’t thank them all enough!

That’s awesome. You know I have to admit I still struggle a lot with the Friday challenges after 6 months here. I think I’ve resigned myself to getting techniques down to start then look at the chords (especially barres) later down the line. So wel done on this. Hope it goes from strength to stength. – Darren

Welcome to the family! If it’s any consolation I came here 6 months ago after noodling about and making no progress since my early teens (I’m now in my fifties) but the improvement I’ve seen over that 6 months has been amazing! It’s learning techniques like hammer ons and pull offs that has been the game changer. I’m still not fluent at my barre chords but that is a challenge I think I will attempt in year 2. Check out the daily challenges – don’t worry if you don’t get them all, just have a go, (honestly I manage to play about 2-3 a week) – and make sure you do the 30 Day Challenge too. Wish you all the best and hope to see you at one of the TAC 90 day online parties.

Well done. This is a BIG win for sure and next time it will seem so natural you’ll just be able to enjoy it all the more. There is nothing like the experience of playing for and with other people.

Yes it was a good session plus I got to meet @Bill_Brown in my chat room who has been able to give me advice on the forums. A great evening (well here in the UK!) and well worth setting aside the time to take part.

That was just perfect. Really lovely playing and those hammer ons work nicely. Can’t beat a bit of Foos to set you up for the day so thanks for sharing. Can I just ask – is that standard tuning?

Hi there @Barry2021 . The first part of the PDF is just a ‘How To’ section and you can’t alter this. Scroll down then you should be able to get to the fillable sections (see my screen shots of my progress report on myself!). I store the sheet on my PC desktop and open it up when I log into TAC so I can fill out anything I need to for that session and also as a reminder. if it is still not working for you perhaps there is a setting in the reader that is opening a read only version? Difficult for me to know as it works fine on my machine and the security settings should be the same for all of us.

Yes – quite unusual ones. I’m trying to incoporate the tune over the top of the chords too, with varied success!

Brilliant @AttyTJ – haven’t heard that one before. Seems appropriate.

No problem – glad to help. I’ve had so much great advice on starting out on guitar from everyone here it is nice to be able to pay some back for a change! I may be in touch some time when I need help with guitar stuff though. 😎🤟
