@Marty69
Thank you! Very kind! Have a great weekend.

That sounded great! Your palm muting was excellent.
-
Thank you! I appreciate you listening and your gracious words.
-
Way to go! It is nice to have the backing track to play along with.

@Bill_Brown Thanks much Bill! Glad you liked it.
The original version was done in 1936 by Victoria Spivey. It was vocals and horns. Tony worked up this finger picking guitar version off of that.

@Rando I hear you! Starting at an older age as I did, the flexibility is a challenge. Still, keeping at it has brought about improvement. Keep reaching!

@Clouds
That’s great! Sometimes a little time each day doesn’t seem like a lot, but it does bring about change and improvement. I started at an old age, been in TAC 2 years next month, and just by keeping at it, I am able to do far more than I thought; some things that seemed intimidating are in reach. The best to you. Enjoy! -
That’s great! I find the same thing; just keeping at it and improving, no matter how slow it may seem at times. Keep it up!

Nice job @Loraine !
To play live on the VOM’s is great. I haven’t gotten there yet. Way to do it!
-
Welcome! There are a lot of choices to help us play here; from the 30 day challenge, to the skill courses, and the daily challenges that run Monday through Friday. Check out where people are playing on the Forum also; and there are VOM (virtual open mics also). I haven’t been able to be involved in them yet, but that live connection sounds good. I hope you enjoy your journey!

Hello @J.Dubs , welcome to TAC!
I may not be understanding you right; but in each video at the lower right hand corner, there are some controls. One of those has a 1x. You can adjust that down, to slow the tempo down to less beats per minute (.5 at half speed for example), or speed it up to go faster (1.5 for example). There are 7 different speed choices. That way you can play along with the “play” of each video at a speed you are comfortable with, and speed up as you get better.

Greetings, and welcome to TAC
I don’t believe there is a specific course within TAC designed to teach tab reading. Within the lessons, Tony will point out what fingers to use and on what string and fret (which is in harmony with what is on the tab), so you can learn it according to each lesson, but I know that may be confusing if you aren’t familiar with it at all. Here is a web page with an overview.

That’s great!
I’ll be 70 in June, so any improvement is good improvement. 😂
