    Excellent @Cadgirl and I’m so pleased for you because I’ve just started using one tonight as well for my repeats of Mondays warm up sessions. Like yourself, I’ve been all over the place but once the metronome was ticking away, everything became so much more exciting, because it lets you know that now, the music that you play is so much more spot on and timing means everything.

    You can hit every note and chord perfectly, but if that timing is out, it’s not good. But missing a note occasionally if the timing is spot on, I bet you’ll find that you could hide the odd mistake here and there and anyone without a trained ear probably wouldn’t even know and that’s why I mentioned the word “Excellent”. Really happy for you Cadgirl

    Hi Loraine and many thanks for updating me. Watching the pre recorded versions are fine as they’re at our finger tips for viewing at our convenience, so that’s great to hear. Kind regards and best wishes

    So glad you posted this small win, but at 160bpm you must be really happy and even though you mention “not perfect but good for me”, that’s part of the key phrase @timguitar because the main focus of playing is exactly how you feel,,, “Good For Me” and for you I am well buzzing because you’re progressing brilliantly. Well done and I wish you a fantastic guitar geek 2022

    Seeing your finger spreads and excellent chord transissions AND singing this lovely song is such a fantastic achievement @Marisa and I hope that you are absolutely buzzing, at what must be one of your favourite dreams, because seeing the passion in your eyes/hands and mind, I believe is what we all dream about and I envy you soooooo much, congratulations 👍🏼

    Thanks @ted_h it’s been to long away, but practicing here every night will soon have me back on track. Actually I seem to be learning loads over the past few nights, the Daily Challenge is such a priceless tool and what ever we play each night is such a massive hand, wrist and finger exercise that will help in what ever we decide to pursue in this fantastic hobby. I hope you’re learning well and achieving everything that you set your goals on 😀

    @Loraine you’ve just answered an area of my question that I never even thought of and the light bulb moment was when I read “and not in any particular order”, now this makes so much sense. I’ve been trying to play the EXACT sequence of what Tony has been getting us to learn, i.e. the lick in the exact forward or backward sequence, playing every note in the correct order.

    Can you see how I’ve been struggling, even though Tony teaches great licks, playing them exactly the same whilst improvising is watching paint dry.

    WOW this is such a massive light bulb moment for me, just pick 4 or 5 of the scale notes out and play them and then pick the right sounding moment 3 or maybe 4 seconds later to play any of the other scale notes. If you’re struggling with this @Berndog use a metronome and slow it down and then try it. If its still to fast slow the metronome down even more or more or more, even if its 50bpm, who cares, as long as you play along no matter how slow it is and the timing is nice and smooth, then eventually you’ll add the notes and for me… I won’t want to stop

    Then start doing the occasional slide or bend, nothing major (no pun intended) to start with, just some little extra add on sounds to make it your own. @Loraine, you are an absolute diamond. For you maybe, this is just natural stuff, but for me, @Berndog and any other members reading this that questioned the same struggle, will now also have the same light bulb moment.

    @Loraine, priceless thanks

    hey @Berndog I knew that I wouldn’t be the only one lost on this subject and scratching my head now and feeling a right doughnut Weary I believe this is improvisation and ive only been learning guitar for about 12 years, but maybe i’m mistaken and that still doesn’t help us out. But Loraine has left a message so hopefully this will help 🙏

    Many thanks for your kind words and I’ve just completed tonights lick, although I’m struggling to learn how to play along to the backing track. I don’t mean this actual lick or backing track, I mean any lick and backing track, I can’t as yet work out how to mix the two together. I think I’ll post this is the forum because its a big part of guitar playing and I’d love to learn how to. But thanks once again for your words, much appreciated 👍

    Thanks once again Loraine for your kind comments. I’ve just practised yesterdays challenge again and I’ve just clicked “completed” as I forgot yesterday. Time now for todays challenge and as I’ve already peeped, I’m really looking forward to playing (not working) 😀

    I hope your well and from your profile, your guirtarsenal sounds amazing, so glad you have so much passion 😃

    Thanks for that priceless reminder that’s sometimes very difficult to follow, because as your profile states, once we pick our faithful friend up, it’s so difficult to put it back down. But I seriously do know exactly what you mean @Marty69 and your kind and thoughtful reminder is very much appreciated 👍
