beautiful that you are looking after you Dad as best as possible and tragic story of peoples greed. Wonderful performance of one of Johns best songs. I hope playing your Dads guitar brings you peace and joy.

I actually did buy the <font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>Epiphone Hummingbird – it is the model EC Studio Limited-Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitar Tobacco Sunburst. I was looking for a travel guitar – around $400. I first bought a fender but took it back and got the Hummingbird. I am </font>embarrassed<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”> to say it was the hummingbird motif that sold me – I am a sucker for hummingbirds and have one in the headstock of my custom Martin D41. I put light strings on it and I enjoy playing it a lot. I just saw that guitar center has it on sale for $359. I think I paid $100 more than that. Good luck !</font>

Happy T-versery!
I know everytime I see you play on a virtual open mic you show a new level of performance! Your timing, chord changes, etc all demonstrate that your tenacity and discipline are shining through! Congrats again and I hope you are enjoying the journey !

@outdoorgator great set up – very smart. “Practicing performing” is a whole new set of skills and discipline – relaxing, playing in the set up you will be using in front of the audience and for me the most important thing had 2 parts:
1) playing through mistakes
2) not making a face or saying something when I made a mistake.
Most of the time the audience will not even pick up the mistake.
Enjoy your open mic!

Thanks for listening – I am excited to see where this tune will end up from a instrumentation standpoint.

I am recording a couple of other new songs now and this one is up next. I have a mandolin player lined up and plan on taking the tempo up a notch and go towards a blue grass feel. I am going to play it live for the first time at an open mic in a few weeks and see how it lands.

@charlie_d thanks ! It is super fun to play. Its funny sometimes I write a song and I have a hard time memorizing it. This one came so fast I had it memorized almost instantly I think because the story flowed quickly and there are some play on words like “far better looking when looked at from afar” that just connect easily for me. Thanks for listening!
