Great rendition @Marty72 👏👏👏 I love it when you put words to the songs you play👍🎸🤩 It made me pick up my guitar and start to jam with you🎉🎊 I know we’re in D, and the other chords are G & A, am I missing anything else🤔Anyways, you are helping me to work on, and improve, my improv skills and I really appreciate it😜 If I can get something together more melodic (less scalar), I’ll post a video (like I’ve done before).
You are looking and sounding more energetic in this video, so I hope 🙏 that means you’re on the mend and feeling better🌞 Take care my friend🤘

Hi @campfire , on Thursday’s “learn video” Tony mentioned something about the song wasn’t in a “key” per say, but it was “modal”, referring to modes. Keep in mind that in FW 1 & 2, Tony never talked about modes because he felt that they were a lot to do about nothing – meaning, a lot of work to teach/learn for a very small fraction of the music that’s out there. So he didn’t even say the “mode” that he thought the song was in. But I’ve done my own research in the past and since have taken a class that touched on them, so I’ve received a small amount of education on modes as well. Take a look at the link I’ve given below to get a better understanding:
https://hellomusictheory.com/learn/modes/
Perhaps after looking at the resource, you can guess what mode the song is in, my guess is D dorian (dorian is a minor mode), and the D major chord is being used as an “accidental”, but see what you think!

Like the major, minor & pentatonic scale formulas, or the CAGED navigation system, or triads and their master shapes, seventh chords and chord extensions, understanding the Circle of Fifths……and yes, arpeggios. I could go on and on. But one thing, to me, that really stands out as something I wish I knew sooner than I did, was the existence of TAC. I know that sounds corny, and I’m not saying it because this is a TAC Forum, I’m saying it because it’s true (to me). Without TAC, I wouldn’t know about the stuff I mentioned above, I wouldn’t have any of the guitars I own, and I wouldn’t have the joy I get from playing them for my family and friends. And most importantly (to me), I wouldn’t have met 2 local TAC members and had the opportunity to play guitar with them, in person. So I wish I’d have joined TAC much sooner than I did, because then I’d be much further along in my journey than I am today.🎸

Fantastic work @Marty72 👏👏👏 I thought the way you carried the melody with picking single notes from the chords you were holding was very well done🤩😘 Sounded just like Don Felder and Joe Walsh playing it🎸👍

And happy summer to you @John_Hall and family🤩🎸🎉🎈🎊 That was very nice👍 I saw one of the grandkids with a guitar trying to play along. I’d call that a good ol’ #FAMJAM👏👏👏 Thanks for posting John, I enjoyed watching and listening😘

I certainly see the merit in what you’re asking @peter_m . I agree that some of the conversations within the lessons can be gems filled with ideas and information. So it would be nice that when we favorite a lesson, the conversations could be included – particularly the new lessons. But I think that Tony might say server space was one of the main reasons that TAC had to be overhauled back in March of 2021. And with that being the case, to save the lesson conversations would be contrary to that end. But I do like the idea Peter, just saving the previous month of lessons while the current month is in play, then dumping it when a new month starts. I wonder how much server space would be tied up by doing that? Or, could a separate site be created – like what Tony did with the “Song Vault”?

A very nice rendition @Marisa 👏👏👏 I appreciate how you used a slower tempo during the verses compared to the chorus – nice touch🤩🎸
