I really enjoyed the musicianship on this one @Fletch and @stevep 👏👏👏 But Fletch, I think you’re going to have to “sing” about 2 or 3 octaves lower than you are now to get that full Leonard Cohen effect (LOL). But seriously, I really enjoyed listening to the instrumental composition and the poem was intriguing also😘

@Marty72 posted this following quote on your last video performance “Hand That Rocks The Cradle”. It had a lot of meaning for me because it summed up my feelings and so I wrote the quote down. I’d like to share it with you again here and now.
“Death takes the body. God takes the soul. Our mind holds the memories. Our heart keeps the love. Our faith lets us know we will meet again.”
🙏 Amen to that my friend🙏

Hi @bsevett Yes, basic solos (improvisation) can be achieved by playing notes in the scale of the tune’s key. But obviously there’s more to it than that. Making a simple melody from the notes in a tune’s chord progression would be a next step, but easier said than done. You also need to know more about the fretboard – have you taken Fretboard Wizard? IMHO, that would be a great course to learn more about the relationship between notes, chords & keys and how they relate to the fretboard. If your guitar journey’s main pursuit is improvisation, then I believe FW would be a great place to start. Also you could Google “acoustic guitar backing tracks” and start practicing with what you know now, but I believe a better education of the fretboard would be of most benefit to your journey,
Good luck🎸

It’s ok @That_Guy , because I’m not at all familiar with the song, so I’d of never guessed. But I did enjoy listening and can’t wait to hear your rendition of the complete song🙃

Great improv @Kitman 🤩👏👏👏 through and through. I loved the ending😘 Going out of the “box” can be exciting if you know how to tie things together, and you certainly demonstrated that with this improv Kit🙃

Hi @DavesVan , welcome to TAC.
In the 30 Days to Play, there is this lesson:https://tonypolecastro.com/topic/learn-to-read-tablature/
This should help!

That was beautifully done @Marty72 👏👏👏🎸 Your vocals and playing were fantastic, and the way you performed the song left a little tear in my eye. The parlor sounded great. What key are you in and what’s the progression?
