Awesome @Kitman 🤩👏👏 wonderful improv👍👍 You found the “groove” with the back track and provided us with an exceptional experience. Really appreciate your effort🤩 Well done😎

Very nice @Jonathandavid 👏👏👏 I enjoyed listening to your bluesy improv😎👍 Even though the back track wasn’t (IMHO) quite bluesy enough, you took that Am pentatonic and made it sound just that way🤩

Check these out @BobbyJ , and look at the product specifications too:

Hope this helps!

Have you held one in your hands yet @BobbyJ and played it🤔? If so and you like it, then absolutely YES👍. If not, then considering that the back & sides are HPL and not solid wood, I would also consider other brands in that price range. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a satisfied Martin owner (I’ve owned 2), and each time I did my comparisons (live, not on line) the Martin won out based (IMHO) on sound, playability and materials/craftsmanship. But after reading the specs on the X Series Martins, I would still consider other brands. My brother-in-law bought a Breedlove (in that exact price range) and I was really impressed with the sound (unplugged & plugged) as well as the craftsmanship – I’m not saying get a Breedlove, I’m just saying that you may want to explore other options in that price range and see what kind of “bang for the buck” you might be able to find🤩

Very nice @charlie_d 👏👏 You may have felt like you fell through the manhole, but you landed on your feet for sure🤩
-
Smooooth @Kitman 😎 you played spot-on at that tempo👏👏 Now that you have it “under your fingers”, another way to challenge yourself is to up the tempo😱 and see if you can still keep it that smooth🤩 just something to work for👍

Hey @speckpgh , let us know what happens, because all of us guitar geeks need to know (lol), but seriously, we’d like to know👍
-
You are journeying well @Kitman 👍 Keep it up and you’ll benefit greatly from the effort that you’re putting out there🤩
-
Exactly @Alphajim5 👍👍 To me, I feel that understanding is the (my) goal, mastery is secondary. Persistence helps the understanding – and aids the ability to achieve a goal🤩

Hey @speckpgh I know it would be a little far for you, but I go to N Stuff Music in Blawnox. Those guys there are fantastic IMHO and several are really good with acoustic guitars. Anyways, what if you just get a new set of strings (D’Addario XP11’s) and start again?

Hi @EverydayAmy , there is usually a short sign-up period in the spring and fall for FW. It hasn’t been offered yet this spring, but when I saw it last fall, it was in small print on the “Support” page, just below the TAC logo at the very bottom. When I noticed it last fall, it said “Fretboard Wizard” (again, very small print – like they were trying to hide it) and when I clicked on it, it took you to a web add for FW (just like when you saw the add for TAC) and from there you could sign-up and pay. The kicker is it was less than 24 hours later and the FW logo was gone from the page. Now that being said, Tony has said that they’re working on FW II, and perhaps once that’s ready, they’ll offer it up.

Hey @speckpgh , just a thought about the string replacement. First time I changed my strings, I noticed I had an issue with the B & hiE strings not being seated properly on the bone portion of the bridge – the spacing was slightly off – so I knew something was not right. There wasn’t any noticeable groove for those strings in the bone, so it was really hard to tell, other than the spacing between the strings was slightly off. I noticed it right away (didn’t play anything to hear if the sound was effected), but just wondering if your problem could be a result of what happened to me?
