Like you, if it is a bit more challenging and I’m able to slay the beast, or at least make progress on it, then it is so gratifying. Keep up the great work @alphajim5

Sounds like you’re winning just through recognition that you’re improving your foundational skills and how they’re going to benefit you throughout your journey. Great win @Mrfredsporty !

Expanding your knowledge and introduction to great artists — can’t beat that. Great win @Mrfredsporty !

Sounds to me like it just might be due to strings being a different gauge and possibly manufacturer than what you had on the guitar originally. Most factory setups on new guitars use a medupium gauge string versus a light string. Also, coatings on strings can make a difference too, Another thought is that neck is bowing.
The only solutions I can think of is to call the luthier first and explain it and see if he’ll offer some free advice or suggestions and avoid the cost of having a set up done if not necessary; try a different set of strings (mids). You can look up what the original strings were that were on the guitar at purchase. Usually on manufacturer website or using Google search.; As a last resort, You can take it to the luthier.

Too cute! What a great grandpa you are dressing up and performing a fun song for the grandkids – Love it! Really nice playing and vocals.

Nice job @Jonathandavid ! I originally thought the backing track was too busy and wouldn’t sound good with the scale, but you made it seem so natural and it sounded great.

Hi and welcome to the TAC community @J.Dubs !
Great question. The daily challenge is a tool for learning different aspects of guitar playing. Monday”s focus is on technique, Tuesday is guitar licks, Wednesday is improvisation based on scales and a backing track, Thursday focuses on rhythm (the backing track from Weds. improv), and Friday is chord transitions. So, you’re learning foundational skills through the daily challenge, and the skills will assist you as you navigate your guitar journey. You’ll be able to apply the skills learned when you go to learn songs.
Is that all there is? No. Have you taken the 30 days to play course? If not, I’d start there, followed by the next six chords. Have you gone through any of the skills courses yet? If not, look through them and choose one that interests you. I began with the Jumpstart courses in fingerpicking, flatpicking and strumming. If you purchased Fretboard Wizard when you initially signed up for TAC, then you could take that. If not, it is typically offered twice a year (for a fee) and you own the course for life. TAC is revamping the course right now, so we’re just waiting for the new version to become available.

Thanks for posting the acoustic version too @KevinZ . I thing I actually enjoyed the acoustic better. I didn’t feel like it was screaming at me like on the electric. It fit your vocals nicely too.

@tj.T There have been a few threads I think on this matter. The previous response from TAC was that they’ll let us know as far in advance as possible. Due to the current COVID situations, it is taken a day atta time, and there is a lot of planning that would need to be done ahead of time. We’ll probably hear something the end of this year or early 2023 if one is planned. Feel free to contact Support and see if Victoria has any further updates.

@J.Dubs For the daily challenges don’t spend an exhorbitant amount of time on tHem. Spend a minimum of 10 minutes on a lesson and then mark it complete. You can continue working it if you like or move onto something else (a song you’re trying to learn, a skills course, scales, etc.). As Bill mentioned, all the daily challenge lessons cycle back around about every 8-9 months, and you’ll be able to see your progress then by how much easier some of them can be played. You’ll have so many foundational skills built up that you’re able to work the challenges more accurately and faster. THe goal of the daily challenges is progression, not perfection. Just give them your best shot during the 10-20 minutes you might spend on them.
