Sorry I missed your debut @Moonhare . I try to join into Scones when I can, but I’m still technically at work, and damned if that doesn’t get in the way sometimes – LOL. Anyway, I’m sure you did splendidly, as always. Great job getting over that fear hump. Scones has such a great atmosphere, and it’s much smaller than other VOMs, so it is less intimidating.

The nylon gave it a very mellow sound, which went great with the backing track. Very nice improv @charlie_d !

Great melodic improv @Jonathandavid . I take it you have a looper, because the backing track seemed longer than I remember it. Really enjoyable.

@Timbothirroul I totally understand, and I’m sure you and I are not alone. Often, we pause after playing a triplet or the end of a bar, and then we pause instead of keeping time with whatever we’re playing, but once you recognize that you can practice and look forward to the next bar or notes and keep going. Nice win recognizing that!

Hi @Noncenx and welcome to the TAC community!
The chords can be difficult in the beginning. What I always tell others is make sure you are arching your fingers enough and playing on the tips of your fingers. To get more arch, move your palm down towards the floor. It creates a natural arch in the fretting fingers. Also, pay attention to where your thumb is placed on the back of the neck. Keep it aligned with the chords you’re playing. Also, only worry about the strings you should be playing. For instance, the low E isn’t played at all on the C chord, so it’s okay to let your ring finger overlap the A-String and deaden the low E. This creates more room for the D string being fretted.
It just takes a lot of practice. Don’t get hung up on the lesson. Move forward, while incorporating practice of the chords daily.

It’s been brought to my attention by JMG that we should not be actively promoting them any longer on TAC.

Hi @Carol-3M-Stillhand I received notification of your post. Because you correctly tagged me, The @;Name is someone’s nickname, which usually is the same as what is showing next to their profile pic, but there are a few people that have different nicknames than what is showing (they changed it), and in those instances you will either not be able to tag them, or you’ll have to go to their profile and look up their nickname. It’s much easier to have everyone just list their nickname as their forum name so they don’t miss out on replies.
Just so others understand about how to view notifications, I received a message under the bell icon at the top right of the page. By clicking on it, you’ll see any current notifications and which discussion you were tagged in. By clicking the message, you’ll be taken directly to the comment that you’ve been tagged in. Hope this answers your question.must match the forum nickname, which is usually the same as the name showing next to someone’s comment. However, some people have a different nickname than there forum name. In those instances, you won’t be able to tag them unless you go in their profile and look up their nickname.

Thanks @Philb – Hoping to eventually move past just the scale, but for now that’s all I’ve got. I enjoyed the backing track.
