Very nice melodic tune, and enjoyed your use of the entire neck. I’m always amazed at players that can make it sound so smooth.

I thought your approach to learning it was fascinating and spot on. I noticed when you barred the 1st fret and cleanly played that your index then rolled as you put your other fingers down. Keep practicing and building the strength in the index finger, and one day you will find that sweet spot and it will ring clear.

Hi @RLP_JR and welcome to the TAC community. Great question, and you are probably doing it correctly. It just takes practice to get picking to sound smooth. It’s about repetitive motion of up/down and not killing the strings, which we all do in the beginning. The smoothness comes when you have the wrist movement down, the muscle memory of the strokes and of the correct strings, and just plain ol’ practice, practice, practice. You’ll get it – just keep doing what your doing and moving forward. Have some fun with it!

Agree that sometimes we need to step back and just take a rest to be refreshed. Great suggestion @JohnV

Stan, the panels look fabulous. Great win!

@CrystalBlue A strap is such a personal thing and really becomes an extension of our guitar and it’s personality.

That ‘C’ chord can be difficult, so this is a great win @alkennedy

You’re too funny @Bill_Brown . Keep plugging away at Freight Train. It’s a great fingerstyle song. I like fingerpicking more than I like strumming or flatpicking. I just need to try and understand how to use it for other songs outside the vault.
