@PeterJ Thanks for sharing. I hadn’t had the volume or sound problems on TAC, but I’ve had them other places, and clearing the cache is the catch all suggestion everywhere, including on TAC, anytime there’s a problem. I don’t know why it works sometimes either. But if that’s all that’s the matter, I’ll take it.

@redrivermonkey Welcome to the TAC community, and congratulations on completing the 30 days to play! See, you can teach new tricks to someone that’s been playing for a while! It was a fun course, and aim glad you Kearney some new concepts and enjoyed yourself. If you haven’t already, take a look at sll the other things offered on the site. There’s no set curriculum, but I suggest the daily challenges. If you haven’t already, start with the 5 day jumpstart course in the skills section, and see the structure of the weeks lessons. Jump into any other skills course that catches your eye. I highly recommend Fretboatd Wizard.

@lollyt If you have a gift if being able to retain the lessons without having to look at the tabs that’s fine, as long as you understand and know how to read the tabs.

@paul0r What a fantastic story. Not only a testament to your selflessness, but to humanity in general. Thank you so much for sharing.

Welcome to TAC @BryanDean , and congratulations on your new guitar. She’s beautiful. I hope you have a lot of fun playing her.
I always suggest a strap, even while sitting. It holds the guitar more securely and will actually hold it more upright and secured properly. Be careful playing while sitting on your couch, because if you play for long periods, your posture tends to be slouched when playing. It may be okay for short periods, but it could cause back, leg, arm pain, or Eb pen affect your ability to fret chords clearly.

@BryanDean Just let Support know that you’re affected by it, so they have record of who is. You can do that by clicking on the support link at the bottom left and then click the chat link. I personally don’t let it bother me. It’s simply a number. If I know I log in daily or play daily that’s good enough for me. I like the idea of keeping tabs in a notebook iIt matters though. I believe the total days played is correct. It is just the concurrent days that may be off.

MemberJanuary 20, 2024 at 2:14 pm in reply to: Daily assistance for questions we might have on a lesson or challenge?@Theedman22 I understand your frustration with trying to understand a concept or learn to identify a note or read tabs etc. It can be difficult. It simply comes with trial and error a lot of times. The answers are provided from what I remember in the lessons, but it’s been a while since I’ve taken FBW. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.
Two thoughts on the matter. The first is to send your suggestion to TAC Support by clicking on the Support button at the bottom left and then click on the Chat button and post your suggestion/question. Victoria will gladly get back to you on it.
The other thought is that TAC has always been a member’s support group, whereas, you can post your questions in the TAC forums and someone should be able to assist you that has taken Fretboard Wizard or another lesson/course too.

Welcome to TAC @billgolibergmail-com ! The guide mentioned by Jeff is a good place to start. You’ll probably want to understand the setup of the weekly lessons, so I suggest taking peg the 5 day challenge in the skills courses, and it’s always good to refresh yourself on stretching. Then you can start the daily challenges. It doesn’t matter what day of the week you start. Some like to begin on a Monday, because then each day builds upon the previous one. You can take any of the skills courses that interest you. There’s no set curriculum. Have fun with it.

@BarbaraM Welcome to TAC! I feel your frustration, and I agree with the others. Be kind to yourself. Learning to play the guitar or any instrument requires practice. It does get easier over time. Be gentle with yourself. My suggestion is to work through the lessons to the best of your ability, but don’t get caught up on perfecting it. As Moose mentioned, we strive footprint progression rather than perfection. You will get better just by attempting the lessons for the minimum 10 minutes per day. Mark them complete after giving them a good try but keep moving forward. You can always revisit a lesson, just don’t get caught up on it. In fact, by taking a break, you’ll probably find that you can return to a lesson a later time and it comes more easily to you.

Great seeing you too Al. Thank you so much. I had a lot of fun doing this one.

@RiverRooo Tuning pegs don’t weigh that much and don’t add to the weight of holding the guitar up. Whether you attach t othe nut or the body is a personal preference. Most prefer the body of the guitar. I think what you’re referring to as neck dive simply happens when you let go of the neck. It is the guitars natural tendancy to have the neck drop straight down and out of the way. A strap will keep the guitar from dropping to the groud. I walk around with my guitar hanging down all the time. It is safer for it to be perpendicular (straight up and down) when walking around with it. It won’t bang into everything.
Having a strap on should not prevent you from being able to look over at the strings. I would try to keep the guitar as parallel or horizontal (side to side) to the floor as possible, but it is expected of newcomers to angle the guitar “slightly” back in order to see the strings, but try to keep it as upright as possible for proper finger placement on the strings. In fact, most of us do this. If necessary, loosen the strap a little to give yourself some slack.

The Bm isn’t a a top tier chord, but it is a next tier chord that is in so many songs. I still have some work to do on it, but I’m determined, and just depends on what side of the bed I get out of that morning 🙂
