@Rando Congrats on 365 days total. That’s a definite win right there, and the fact that you were able to pull yourself back into consistency shows strength. And the ability to see your improvement is a big win. We are often the last to recognize how far we’ve come. Keep up the great work.

@outdoor gator I enjoyed your post, and I’m so glad @marquita was able to help. She’s a great person and always willing to assist when she can.
Thankfully, the sore fingertips get better fairly quickly once they’ve built up enough callous’ and you’re able to keep playing without long periods of being unable to. I like the idea of icing the fingertips after playing. I hadn’t thought of that.
Great win!

Those are some pretty cool accomplishments in just a year. I’m so glad you realized them before your rut win out. Keep on plunking away!

That’s how it goes, you stumble, find a gem while playing around with the scale and backing track, and then bam, you come up with something that sounds pretty dang good. Nice win!

Congrats on your 30 days, and on improving. Keep practicing using bits and pieces of phrasing from the scale, and when something sounds good, it is good.

Congrats on the new gear @AlteredGoods . It does sound as if you’ve been bitten by the all things guitar bug. It only gets worse from here 🙂

You deserve a win! I agree, that as long as you are happy and having fun, that is what matters. It does come in time. I still can’t play to the practice videos or the backing tracks, and that’s okay in my eyes too. Congrats!

@JoeT I haven’t heard of anyone else using it on this platform. You could contact support and ask them.

@bugmeist The first time or two changing strings can be so stressful. I was lucky and had a very patient TACer Zoom with me and walk me through the entire process. To this day, I don’t think I would have ever gotten over my fear without their selflessness. Congrats on going it alone and surviving.

Welcome to TAC @SteveDyer , and congratulations on completing the 30 days to play! This is your journey, and you can’t go wrong with whatever path you choose. I would suggest starting the daily challenge. Just do the best you can. I promise that if you do the daily for at least 10 minutes minimum per day, you will improve. The lessons are meant to challenge us. Don’t focus on perfection, because that’ll just lead to frustration. When you’re able, then start looking at skills courses and what your interests are. As a beginner, the Jumpstart courses are great. Good luck and have fun!

I absolutely love Mike Dawes. I saw him with Tommy Emmanuel, and I have tickets to see him 2/15 at a local theatre (1st row).

Hi DiscostewLA – TAC doesn’t sponsor or support the Jam Clubs. They got away from allowing the Jam Clubs to be associated with TAC in order for TAC to focus more on their core purpose of teaching guitar basics and consistent practice. There’s no reason why you can’t search for others near you on the member map area and contact them via private messaging to develop a local JAM Club.
