Wren in the woodpile
Posted by Moonhare on December 22, 2021 at 4:01 amThis is the last part of my 90 Day Progress Party challenge to post a piece on the forum each month. Last week I watched the live show by @RealKurt hosted by @Jim_Krozz and it was so inspiring I just needed to (in the words of The Who) “pick up my guitar and play!”. So I wrote a little piece inspired by the tiny bird with the HUGE voice here in the UK, the wren. It flits about in the wood piles in our garden like a little mouse but boy can it sing and it is LOUD! Hope you like this and thanks again to Kurt for inspiring me to push myself. 🤘😎🎸 Darren [Moonhare]

Wow, very impressive @Moonhare ! Very nicely done, and your flatpicking was great. Cathcy tune, and I could envision the Wren flitting and singing.

That was a great flat pickin’ original instrumental @Moonhare 👏🤩👏 @RealKurt should be proud to know that he was your inspiration for writing and performing this piece👍👍 Besides the flat pickin’, you also showed some awesome fretting hand work as well😱 Enjoy the Yule Tied Season my friend and best wishes for the New Year🎄😎🎁

Woohoo! Love it Moonhare, rock on brother!!! I’m still working on my flastpicking too, we’re at the same stage of our little journey, and this sounds great!!!!!!

Thanks. I’ve been playing through a few times and getting more proficient with each pass. Just so much fun. You have a great Christmas and see you on the other side of new year.

Hi Darren, while I didn’t get to watch @RealKurt yet…I hope there is a way…you just inspired me! You are killing it! 🙌🏼

@Jim_Krozz has just posted a little edited section of the gig in the forum. Check it out. @RealKurt knocked it out of the park but also the Q and A and Jim’s wonderfully gentle interviewing style on the evening really made it a special event.

Very nice reckon the the wren likes zeppelin getting a bit of that vibe wether it’s the timing or the great driving rhythm.

You have absolutely no idea how much of a smile that comment brought to me! Jimmy Page is my inspiration so thanks a million! 🤘😎🎸

That was excellent. I’m continually inspired by so many TAC members. (Just wish my fingers moved as fast as my brain). But when I practice, I get better and when I get better it’s more fun! Thanks Moonhare (and others) for continuing to inspire. Happy Holidays to all. “Be nice and play guitar”. (I just got my cap, lol.)

You know I wish my fingers (or at least my pick!) would move faster but it’s better now than when I started in April so at least I know the TAC method works!. Good luck with your guitar journey in 2022 and thanks for this encouragement. It means a lot.

Thanks a lot. I’m developing it into something proper that I hope to play when I pick up the courage to do a VOM.

Moonhare, this is the first song I’ve heard in 2022 and what a happy treat. So light and invigorating. My feet wanted to dance (but I can’t clog… wish I could). Thanks for your uplifting piece.
